Subject : Do we really need a microwave?
Hello,
I'm popping in from the 'planning' forum and hope to pick the brains of those with experience...
Friends (with a 7-month old) told us yesterday that when we have a LO, we'd need a microwave for quickly heating food/milk etc. We don't particularly want a microwave and have no other use for it - what's your advice? Hubby commented that our parents' never had microwaves and got by fine.
Any opinions/advice/experience would be gratefully received!!
Many thanks.

I use my microwave for heating food and also sterilising bottles/spoons etc in our Avent microwave steriliser thingy. Of course you dont really NEED one but it does make life easier espcially if you do want to heat babies milk (which you dont need to do by the way - room temp milk is fine).

I never used it for heating bottles but I used it loads for other stuff - heating food / milk for cereal and sterilising.
(i had a steam steriliser but the little travel microwave steriliser was great for spoons/dummies)
Maybe not absolutely necessary but a great time saver and cuts down on pot washing for heating all those tiny weaning amounts
xx

Thanks for your advice ladies - I'll look into finding a mini-microwave for convenience sakes!
