Subject : hi
Hi everyone
Sorry i havent had chance to come on for quite some time but no computer at present.
Elise is walking at last! There's no stopping her now and she hates to be put in her pushchair.
We have no more hospital visits as they are happy with her progress. Just need to keep an eye out for things like ADHD and Autism.
I have recently found out I am pregnant again. It came as a total shock as we only had sex once in a couple of months. unfortunately it was the worst thing to happen given my history of prem births and kidney problems. The MW talked to me at lenghth about the implications and it was decided that a termination would be the best choice. However i just couldnt go through with it after being told I was more than 12 weeks.
So here i am again and a scan on Wed showed me to be 16 +3 weeks.
I'm very scared, but so far havent had any problems. im keeping my fingers crossed that i can get past 24 weeks so that bub has a fighting chance. I will also be having a ceasarian, but at least this time i will be more prepared.
Hope all your lo are doing well.
Maria

HI there
wow...firstly, congrats on your pregnancy.
That must have been one hell of a shock!!! I think sometimes you just have to go with the flow and think that this baby is meant to be.
I hope this baby stays inside long enough to not worry you too much.
I got sterilised while having my section and it was the best thing ever. Means I dont have to stress about falling preganant again. We, like you, only have to do it once in about 6 months and I still get pregnant... lucky in some ways but not when its the last thing you need.
So pleased Elise is doing so well.
keep us UTD and make sure you rest and get lots of help with the kids

HI Jem
wow congratulations on being pregnant again, though sorry to hear you lost a twin.
thanks also for your kind words about Elise. She's doing really well now.
I must admit i'm really scared of even going through the doors of the labour ward. the consultant has referred me to the obstetric liason team and so i'm hoping they will support me this time. I've told my oh and my mum that i dont want to spend any time on my own. at least they're going to give me fortnightly scans and keep an eye on my kidneys this time.
how are you keeping?
have/ are you getting any morning sickness?
today has been the first time that i havent been sick :)
when's baby due?
take care
maria xx

Wow! Congrats on the pg Maria! I'm jealous. Want number 2 now. Lovely to hear from you and glad Elise is doing so well. I haven't been on here for months either. Just so busy back at work. Take care with the pg. Can they stitch you up down there this time?? (sorry - don't know the proper term for this!!)

I hope so good and proper! ( stitch me up that is)
I'm very proud of my children. They are bright, very lively and i wouldnt be without them. I'm so lucky to have them, given that they all were in a rush to come into the world. So when this little one is born, i hope they fit me with a chatity belt and throw the key away!

How you doing Maria? Sorry if my last post probably sounded a bit insensitive. I shouldn't point out how I'd love to be pg when you're probably wrecked with worry that you could have another prem baby. I really hope you don't have to fight for your care this time. You shouldn't have to. Remember you can always ask for a second opinion if you're not happy with your treatment (during pg of course - not so easy in labour!). Every patient is entitled to this,
Take care and hope bump is doing well.

Aaah thanks JO,
No it's me being insensitive, given the fact you would love to be pregnant. When i read my post re: termination, I thought it sounded terrible when there are so many mums who would do anything to have a baby. I was just terrified of the consequences ie the early birth and being told I could end up on dyalysis. As well as coping with another baby again, but I'm feeling better now.
A lthough I'm still scared too.
