Hi! If they are suggesting a section it must be for a good reason! I've never come across anyone who's done that. What is the reason behind your MW going for the section?? x

hi there. i had section with 1st lo due to failure to progress. i was induced at 40+12 but it took me another 4 days to actually get into labour which ended in em section. when i was pg with my 2nd i was given the choice of elective section or VBAC i was keen to try for a VBAC but i didn't want to be left to go so overdue again. my consultant said i could either come to hospital at 40+7 for a section or come in on my due date and be induced. this is what i did. although because of my previous section they would not put me on the drip that got me going last time, they used the pesseries to try to induce me. in the end it didn't work and i ended up with another section. my hospital really seemed to be pushing for VBACs to it wasn't really an issue for me to get an induction. hope this helps.
also just for (some??) comfort, 2nd section wasn't nearly as bad as the first, i recovered lots quicker, and in the end although it wasn't technically elective it felt more like that, it was much calmer than emcs and i was more alert after. good luck with getting what you want.xx

my first section was fab never had any pain or anything and was shopping just over 2 days later, i loved my section the only reason why i am slightly more towards a vbac is because we want more than 3 children and i do not want to risk more damage to my uterus.
I am not saying i am going to refuse the section to force an induction at the mo i am just exploring my possibilties.
My induction/section should be before 37 weeks.
Is there any other reason except scar rupture to why they do not like to use the drip?xxx

no as far as i know the only reason they said no to the drip was because of the posibility of scar rupture, because the contractions that it brings on can be stronger than 'natural' contractions and there is no real build up to them they are strong straight away.
i don't know what the actual stats are on the posibility of rupture with a drip or whether they never use a drip after a section or whether it depends on how far you get with the pesseries. hope all goes well for you xxx
