Subject : constant feeding at 10 weeks old

Hi,
Would like some advice please. Alfie my 10 week old is constantly feeding from about 4pm till 10pm, during the day he goes 2 hrly but feeds for about 1hour. He had a growth spurt at 6 weeks where I was camped out on the sofa all day for 3 days with Alfie constantly attached. But things did settle down to 2-3 hourly feeds with a good long feed before bed then would sleep for 6 hours, but now only goes 3 hourly at night. I am exhausted and worried, although he is gaining weight and having lots of wet and dirty nappies. Is this normal.
Thanks for your help
Suzie and Alfie

Hiya

How long has this been happening? My lo had this last weekend (3 days total) where the evenings and nights totally went out - and my hv said it was a growth spurt! The scales at her weigh in proved it too! So I would say it is normal and should pass!

I know it is knackering but it will pass so keep your chin up!

Thanks for your reply, it has been happening for about 4 days, and today he has been camped out on my breast since 11am this morning so I think it might be a growth spurt too.
It is so reasurring to hear i am not the only one.
Thanks

it is normal! my lo did this quite often and seemed to have growth spurts all the time! she is now 28 weeks old, weaned and having 4-5 good bf's a day, and i miss those days and the closeness even though it was knackering. if lo is gaining weight, then that is brill and all is going well.
well done and it will pass x

I remember the evenings attached to the sofa. I kept falling asleep with her which was an issue. Although it is probably just a growth spurt it may also be do to with reduced supply in the evening. I started expressing after my morning feed and topping her up after BF for about 30mins. She then would fall asleep happily and I got my evenings back.

H xx
