Subject : Bugaboo Cameleon
Hi ladies,
GC from pregnancy, hope you don't mind!
I was wondering if anyone had one of these? Do you find it too heavy? Or have any concerns with it?
It ticks loads of our boxes but is a more pricey option so would like to just check it was user friendly before paying out!
Thank you!

hey hun I have one of these and if you want my honest opinion I would save your money (unless you have plenty to splash!) its a great pram I do like it but in retrospect it just isn't neccesary. We bought a foldaway buggy to take on hol about a month ago for £70 and we use this more now because its lighter and smaller etc. So we never really got enough use out of our bugaboo to justify the cost in my opinion.
Like I said though it is a great pram so if you love it and you have plenty of lolly go for it :)

I've got one, and the only thing about it I would change is the fact I can only get one baby in it I had mine when my eldest (now nearly 3) was born, used it just about every day untill her little brother arrived a year ago, and I'm now back to using it for him. It is REALLY light to push, so much so that in the wind you have to make sure you hang on to it! It's easy to use, there's a bit of a knack to folding and unfolding but once you have it it takes seconds. The whole thing is washable so you can keep it looking smart, it works almost as well off road as it does round town and most importantly it seems really comfy, the carrycot is a good size too.
I absolutely love mine and I have never for a second regretted buying it.

Same as Bedhead. I love mine. I had a quinny buzz first which broke twice so then got the cameleon. It gets used everyday! Don't have any issues with it at all. xxx

Thanks ladies! And you don't find it heavy to lift in and out of the car? Or the carry cot heavy? Maybe I am just being pathetic! lol
Some of the reasons we wanted it was because it felt more solid. We would use it for 'off road' so to speak across rough ground and it seemed sturdier. Also wanted to use the baby part for the baby to sleep in when away for the night and save us buying a moses basket or travel cot. One less thing to take! MIL lives quite a distance away so if we were visiting for the night it was the only one that said it was okay to leave them in. I also liked the under basket, nice and roomy. It does seem light to push and has a good turning circle. Would you agree with all these?
The one downside is the price, so hoped to see if we could get 2nd hand, but would need a new mattress then.
Thanks again!

I don't find it heavy to lift but it is slightly awkaward because it folds down quite big. I actually think it's ligher than a lot of 'big' pushchairs because it comes into two pieces. One word of warning, when you are using the carrycot it does take up A LOT of room in the car boot. Hubby has an estate so it wasn't an issue for us but it's worth thinking about. My brother and his girl friend have one too and they've used it for both of their girls to sleep in overnight.
I would agree with everything else, although when you are using the carry cot it is a bit hard to get into the basket.

Hi
I also have one and would recommend it. I took mine to Spain when I visited my parents there for 2 weeks when my lo was 10 weeks old. He slept quite happily in the carry cot during the day and night. My friend used her carrycot instead of a moses basket for downstairs during the day (I did some times too).
I remember when I was pregnant and was shown how to fold it down it seemed SO confusing but it's really easy - and much quicker than all my friends prams. I'm glad it didn't put me off because it is such a great pram. I use it a lot with the car seat (comes with living in a village) and it is so compact - people often comment on it.

I have a Cameleon and love it. Admittingly Abby is only 7 months so don't know what it's like with a toddler but she has had nights in the carrycot and many naps in both the carrycot and the pushchair. I have dogs so off road quite a lot and it's great for that. I use it every day and don't have any issues with its weight but I'm quite strong.
As Bedhead says the carrycot is very big. It makes it good for overnight sleeping but I couldn't get the frame, cot and dogs all into the boot of my estate car so the carrycot needed to be squashed onto the back seat with the car seat which was difficult. However the pushchair bit is smaller and fits on top of the frame in the boot.
I'm a little worried about what I would do if no2 came along but otherwise I would recommend it.

Can I just add that the carrycot does lie flat if you take the end metal 'legs' out (very, very easy and quick)? It's how you collapse it to get it into the travel bag so it doesn't have to go full size into your boot...

Gotta agree with all the comments. i LOVE my bugaboo. I have wanted one for about 5 years so when I was pg no other pram got a look in.
I have the maxi cosi car seat that clips onto the chassis with special adaptors - couldnt live without them! Esp for short visits to the Doc's etc. Charlie is too big to carry in his car seat. Hurts my back
The pram is very light and I can't recommend it enough. It is quite expensive but as they hold their value quite well then you know that you will at least get something back when you no longer need it

Only been using mine for 5 weeks but love it and wouldnt have bought any other pram. Yes its more expensive but i never found one that matched up to it.
The carrycot as wildkat said does fold up and its very quick and easy to do this. It all fits in the boot of my corsa. The frame isnt heavy at all, there arent many lighter unless you go for something tiny like the bee. i say buy it! x

Thank you for all your replies, very helpful. We have spent the afternoon in John Lewis double checking all the bits and comparing it to the cherry etc. And we still think the cameleon is the one we will go for. Thanks for all your reassuring replies that it is worth the money.
Just have to pick colours now! :\)
