Subject : When does it stop?

Hi
I am currently 15+4 and still needing to go for a wee every 1-2 hours at least. It isn't too bad through the day time but I am getting really tired from the interrupted sleep. When I am up for the 4th time in the night I struggle to get back to sleep.
It started at about 6 weeks and has been the same right through. I thought it settled in the 2nd trimester and got worse again once the baby was bigger and pressing down?
I have had dipsticks on my urine to check it isn't an infection. I still get sick sometimes, could it be linked to this indicating my hormones are still high?
Husband says it's all just getting me ready for when the baby is here and don't get more than 2 hours sleep!

It eased, very slightly, for me around weeks 18 - 24. Still getting up but not as often, only about once a night.

Still only about once a night now but need to go loads before I actually fall asleep - have no idea what that's about. Oh and started needing to go alot more in the day from 24 weeks too. Sorry!!

Thanks for replying ladies.
I get really thirsty at night too so would worry if I didn't keep my fluids up that I was getting dehydrated. Also have started getting awfull headaches so another reason don't want to restrict my fluids. But it is a pain in the bum needing to wee all the time! Although I have to say I am loving being pregnant despite all the gripes! :D

Right, i'm not even sure if I should mention this....BUT, I will anyway because if it was me I would want to explore all avenues.

Frequent urination and feeling thirsty (you mentioned it in your last post) can all be signs of diabetes. Did your glucose get checked when you had routine bloods taken?

Obviously you may just have these sympotms and be fine, but its worth getting checked out. Also a urine dipstick is great for a quick test but it isn't that sensitive, I would ask your GP/midwife to send a sample to the lab for more analysis, just to check there's absolutely no bugs in there.

I don't want to scare you with these suggestions but whatever I think you'd better see someone even if its just for reassurance...fingers crossed you're well and its just something you;ll have to put up with! Have to admit it will be good training for LO's arrival!

Hope this makes sense xxx

Hi mybutler,
I am seeing the MW on Tuesday so will be taking a pot then. I will ask her if it is going to be sent away, although it is a plain pot and not one with boric acid in.
I am under the care of a consultant due to thyroid problems. I used to get high glucose but not full on diabetes before I was stable so that is one of the things they checked at 13 weeks when I saw the consultant just incase. It is in my notes for them to check it regularly through out.
Guess it must just be hormones at the minute!

No advice but wanted to say I feel your pain!! I am 10+1 and one night this week I was up for a wee 3 times before 3am and I got so fed up I couldn't sleep because I was sulking!
Can a UTI make you wee more often? I had some blood in my urine when I saw the midwife 2 weeks ago, she said she would just keep an eye on it but maybe thats why!!

I've currently got a water infection. I suspected I had one 5 weeks ago but mw tested my urine and said it was fine, so as someone said above, they prob not very sensitive as now I've got urine infection and same symptoms as before.

I've been drinking cranberry juice as I can't get any antibiotics til they know what it is exactly and touch wood, I've slept marginally better these last few nights.

Worth a try.
