Hi Ladies,

I am feeling a bit sorry for myself..sorry this isn't baby related.

Day before yesterday I was playing a game with my dd and she was clapping...her hand bounced back and hit me in the face, her fingernail caught me in the eye. Well, it really hurt and watered a lot...but I didn't realise till later what damage it had done. I was in agony by the evening, couldn't open my eye, couldn't close it either. It was all red and I could see properly out of it. So, had to have a trip to a&e yesterday- had to have anesthetic in it which was HORRIBLE! then had to have dye in it so they could assess the damage- I have a scratched cornea and the way the scratch is it's deep and it's effecting my vision in that eye- making it a quater of what it should be.

It's horrible! I feel like I am wearing someone elses glasses and it hurts so much...I've had to put the computer on because it encourages me to keep my eyes open, if not I just end up giving in and shutting them then I can't open them again. I've spent the morning asleep because I am on strong pain killers...booooohooooo!!

Just thought I'd share! Please keep your fingers corssed for me, if my visions not better tomorrow I have to go back to hopsital to be referred to an eye hospital and I really don't want to be!

Oooh sore one CC. I hope you feel better soon. My oh got a scratched cornea when he got a bit of metal stuck in his eye at work, luckily after a few days his eye was back to normal, but he said it was agony. xx

I can sympathise with you as i was scratched in the eye by a cat once.

Well, the pain is less, but my vision still not improving...I have to really squint to see the screen but the computer helps me keep myeyes open!

I am giving it till tomorrow and then I will go back to the hospital if no better- I think it must be healing though so that can only be a good thing!
