What did you want from your birth partner???

Just need some advice coz if Charlie hasnt arrived by 6pm I am on my way into hospital to be YummySingleMummys birth partner!! What did you most want from your birth partner and what was the worst thing they did?? I really want to do my best by Becky if she needs me but I had 3 c/sections so this is a new thing to me really lol Thanks for any advice ladies xxxxx

I think I just wanted someone there to hold my hand and make sure rash decisions weren't made by mws etc if I wasn't up to making the decisions myself. Takers kept patting me on the shoulder and it drove me insane so you might want to avoid doing that Be prepared to see a whole new side to your friend! Both physically and mentally Keep water handy - Takers kept putting it on the side so every time I wanted a quick sip he took ages getting it to me, by which time I was in another contraction Mainly though - be calm and reassuring that she is doing great and go with whatever she wants Good luck!!

I wanted to be able to see my oh and he needed to keep talking to help me breath through the contractions.. He kept putting thewater far away, which was annoying. But other than that he was great. He listened to what I said and did what I asked. (giving water, call the midwife, small things)

I just wanted James to rub my back. Everytime he stopped I shouted "why the f*ck have you stopped" LOL - poor bloke had 2 dead arms! Good luck hunnie.
