Subject : gynae results, bad news, can i come join you guys???

well i had my private appointment tonight and its all bad news!
I went in and he was lovely [he would bloody need to be at £120 for 15 minutes!!!!!!this is the second gynae doc ive seen as my other guys is retiring]. and he took my history etc and he done a pelvic scan, my ovarys were plastered in cysts. He confirmed i have polycystic ovarys. He also told me the results of my last blood test and confirmed im not ov and he also told me i have a very high pro-lactin level
He is starting me on Metformin from the end of next week and will decide wither to put me on clomid aswell in the next fortnight when he knows for sure i didnt ov for three months in a row. He also wants a sperm test done for Gary and he done swabs for infections etc [sorry tmi] but said as i had a baby already i should be fine.
Anyway the long and short of it is i am officially buggered but at least they are doing something about it and im looking forward to starting Metformin as it can also help to lose weight!!! [ a nice side effect!]
I hope you guys dont mind me moving over to you all now, ive been trying for so long and now i know there is a problem i think i should be here, 17 months is long term isnt it??? LOL xxxxx

Hi ya Diane,

Glad you finally got sorted out now. Sorry to be welcoming you over here, as you know I have pcos and have been spending more time in ltttc since I found out back in march.
Its really positive that you have finally started treatment as I know we spoke a long time ago and you suspect pcos.
Good luck xx

thank you all for your lovely replys. I hope it works for me and i get my bfp soon, i also hope you all get your bfps soon too cause i have been lurking in LTTC for a while and "know" a lot of you and its always lovely to see the oldies getting their bfps.
Also another reason why im happy to move over here, i love hearing about bfps in TTC but its so hard when most of them are newbies and i just wished it could be me, another silly notion of mine! LOL x

Hi Diane - I started posting on here about 6 weeks ago and these girls are fab. The 'good' thing is that whatever stage of your journey you're at someone is going through / has just gone through the same thing. Hope the Metmorfin does the trick xxx

Hi Diane

Welcome to this lovely forum - in the nicest way I hope you're stay is a short one! I'm sorry to hear the news wasn't good, it's always so hard to hear that your body isn't doing quite what it should be. Really positive to have a diagnosis though and to know it's something they can help with. Although this may seem like a step backwards, it's actually a huge leap forwards towards your BFP because they know what the problem is and can get your treatment started.

Lots of luck to you.

x
