Subject : Dr Brown's Bottles?
Hi all
Has anyone used these? Toby still struggling to bring up his wind and I've changed milks (from Aptamil to C&G) which has def. made some diff (he is burping more) but I can see he is still struggling a bit so I wonder if I need to bite the bullet and buy these bottles.
I am just put off by reading reviews that they can be tricky to clean! I hate cleaning anything! LOL
Tommee Tippee do their own version of it, but I tried Toby on them with a couple of feeds and didn't notice any difference. (a friend lent me a bottle)
Thanks, Joo xxx

Hi Joo
I've been using these for Milla and they seem good, but she doesn't generally have a problem with her wind. as for cleaning - yes they do take a minute longer as there'd an extra bit, but it's not difficult and you get a skinny wee brush for it with the bottles.
maybe try borrowing one if poss to see if they work? but i wouldn't let the cleaning thing put you off, after all we're already cleaning and sterilising anyway lol!
good luck
Aileen xx

i have just changed from tommee tippee closer to nature bottles to dr brown bottles as my lo was waking up screaming for hours tried all the colic remedies and sitting her up whiklst feeding and found none of them worked. she has been on these bottles for 2 days and settles straight away after her night feed and hardly has any wind to bring up.
cleaning isnt an issue when you know they're going to work and as Aileen said, you get a little brush with them.
Ebay have some for sale which are brand new 2 bottles for 10.00 plus p n p which i believe is a bargain as i paid 20.00 for 2 when i bought the first lot from a chemist.

I think the instructions say to heat the bottles with the lid off so the milk doesn't bubble up into the vent thingy (the long tube the hangs down inside). Failing that, you could try heating with the lid only screwed on loosely xx

Im using these bottles and i have to say that they r fab!
I tried Nuk Anti-colic & Tommee Tippee before i tried these. They are abit of a pain to clean but its worth it as shes soooo much better (she had terrible Colic & infacol & gripe water made her quite constipated)
I also changed her to Aptamil Easy Digest after 1st trying Aptamil then SMA which both made her only have 1 pretty explosive poopie a day.
Im afraid my LO likes to poop at least twice!
The easy digest made her have lots of poo's for the first month or so but has leveled off now.
If you do decide to change formuka (if you are FF that is?) Easy Digest or C&G Comfort does make them ALOT more trumpy!
Can be quite embarassing when in public!

Also answering the question about warm feeds.....
You have to warm the milk/Formula (just bottle n milk) in a jug with boiling water.
I give LO her milk at room temp as its too much of a faff using ED as its thicker feed (to help reduce gulping which helps colic/wind issues) and therefore hard to test temp of milk as wont just drip out of the teat.
Note: some people say its best to have level 2 teats with ED/Comfort but my LO gets her wind issues with a quicker flow. She takes 20 mins to finish 5-6oz.
BTW it does say on ED & Comfort that you have to mix with boiled water cooled for half an hour(which i dont as make up bottles and leave them on the side in the shade at room temp), but as long as you put 2 scoops at a time and swill round it does mix well @ room temp and my LO is 14wks and thriving.
It sounds like abit of a rant but wish id known all these points when i started out so hope this helps someone reading this. xx
