Im feeling really under the weather today. Ive been dragging myself in to work for the last 2 days with a sore throat, blocked sinuses and bad headache. Last night I had the worst night sleep ever, whatever Ive got has gone to my chest and Ive got an awful chesty cough as well now.
I did go in to work this morning which was a stupid idea as all I managed to do was cough, blow my nose, sneeze and splutter through a couple of jobs before I gave up and came home after I was told to go home and put my feet up WhateeeEver!

Im just so annoyed and sick of getting ill with one thing or another, it was only about 3 weeks ago I was off sick last time with exhaustion! I feel so guilty and useless taking all this time off especially as Ive been going in late alot recently with various ante natal appointments!

I was even keeping Amber awake last night with my coughing - she'd settle then everytime I coughed Id feel her stirring and nudging me - poor sweetheart!!

Sorry for the moan - Im just thouroughly fed up of being ill and not being able to take any cold remedies and having a sore red nose LOL!!

Poor you the problem is once your've been run down, it takes ages for your body to get back up to strength.

You need to take it easy for a couple of days - Jeremy Kyle etc...... You will soon be on the mend. Don't beat yourself up, just try and relax.

hope youre feeling better soon hon. just enjoy the timeout and get yourself back on track with your health AND dont feel guilty about it! if you werent pregnant you could still be sick and in need of time off work so its no different (except the fact you can take anything for it Mad )

If you can watch daytime tv then you should stay at home and enjoy- once it gets annoying its time to go back to work! Its a good thing to take it easy for a few days - build up your strength!

Oh hon, get well soon! I'm sure I read somewhere that being pregnant reduces your immunities so it could be that you're just more likely to pick these coughs and colds up. There's loads going round. Drink lots of water, I found hot water with honey and a slice of lemon really helped when my sinuses were blocked, it's quite comforting! x x x

Awww thanks girls xxx

Im going to the Drs this morning as I think I know where it came from and it's got on my chest now, so as well as having asthma and hayfever I think Im getting a chest infection too.

A colleague at dh's work was off last week with a sore throat which was swabbed and was bacterial, then dh got it last weekend but he didnt get it that bad just a bit of a sore throat, but that's how it started for me on Tuesday, so Im thinking that whatever caused the sore throat has gone on my chest so anti biotics will probably be what I need to shake it off and I dont have a fever or aches and pains, so Im pretty confident its not swine flu. Though I think thats what everyone at work thinks it is, so theyre like dont come back next week, which I think is fair enough as I sometimes come into contact with chemotherapy patients so I wouldnt want to pass anything on to them.

Mmmm honey and lemon sounds like a good idea, very soothing!

I dont feel too bad in myself today, just the old coughing and spluttering.

Dr said I have a chest infection and it's definately not swine flu as my temp is 36.5 but I didnt think it was anyway.
Ive just got some anitbiotics for the infection and steroids for the asthma, so that should help shake it off.

Im going to ask to go back to work next week - Dr said it would be no probs for me to go back in.

I know rosapenny - it does seem to be one thing after another, we pick anything and everything up thats going around.

Thanks girls
