Hi Lobby Lou, thanks for the thread,
My GP was a bit thick to be honest it was like he had just seen me, he looked at my letter from the Sonogropher, and said so yes you have PCOS, i said yes and now wondered what next happenes, he said well what woudl you like, i said well maybe to be put on medicaiton to help me OV!! seein as i dont, he said how do you know you dont!!! i was thinking is he for real and it started to make me think has he eever been listenening to me, i said because i have been charting doing OV srticks and most of all im not pregnant nor had a period!.
so he was typing up to look for things on his comp and nothing was coming up he put in the words secondary annorea (sp) after some fumbling around he found a referral letter to the local hospital general gyne department, said i need to call them next week to do a chose a book appointment. So i am hoping when i see a gyne there that maybe they then will prescribe me with provera and clomid.
To be honest i dont think my GP knew about the provera drug as he said they can give you meds to help with ov but you need a period first so i mentioned the provera and he didnt seem to know what i meant, slightly worrying.
Sorry for long post but wanted to explain it to someone who understands. Especially seeing as we are in very similar siutations xx

Gosh, (dont apologise for long post sweet)
He sounds like a right numpty. You should get a far better response from the hospital, they usually know what they are doing.
You sound very similar to me with not getting AF ect so I would imagine you would be given provera (or something very similar with a different name) and clomid so thats really exciting.
They may send you for a hsg first to check your tubes are clear and your oh for sa.
Keep me posted xx

Hay up,
I like the idea of booking on line how modern LOL
I took dh to my appointment, i figured this is something we have to go through together and although its me with the problem he wants to know what it going on with it all. Plus they will prob send him for sperm analysis too.
They will prob ask lots of questions about your cycles, any other children/pregnancies, life style and that sort of thing. They may take some swabs (but this doesnt happen with every doctor). They will prob send you for another set of blood tests and hsg too.
I got my drugs on the follow up appointment.
Iv not ov'd now and the follicle is now classed as a cyst so will be starting a new cycle next wk with a higher dose I think. xx
