Subject : Bedtime getting silly - help!

As you know I have moaned about Charlotte's habit of kicking around in the cot at bedtime. Now she is literally launching herself around the cot and crashing into the sides. She did it last night and banged her head numerous amounts of times.

What the hell do I do to stop this apart from taping her to the bloody mattress?! As you can see I am getting VERY frustrated with this. She's not like this at nap times so don't understand it.

I sit in my living room at night wanting peace & quiet and it sounds like we have workmen upstairs it is that bad. How on earth can she be so lively when she woke from her nap at 2.30 and been playing all afternoon?! She goes to sleep quite quickly for her nap.

I really hope this passes cos when we do take the sides off her cot she'll be falling out all the time the way she flings herself about. She will seriously hurt herself if this continues. Is she hyper-active?!

Sorry to go on but OH away and I'm fed up of having to put up with this myself all bloody and not feeling too well at the moment.

Mad

My daughter is doing the exact same thing. She wakes up in the night, I go in to check on her and shes fine but the minute I walk out the room she starts throwing herself around the cot, she has so many bruises.
I'm considering making the cot into a toddler bed so she doesnt keep doing it.
I spoke to my health visitor and she said its probably just a phase not helpful but hopefully she'll stop doing it soon x

God you must be about ready to pull your hair out. James has been playing up at bed times for the past few nights too. He's fine until you put him in his cot and then he just starts to sob uncontrolably. I really have to stick to my guns and not lift him out cos as soon as I do he just switches the tears off instantly and wants to go and play with his cars. I've literally just ordered his big boy bed and I'm beginging to wonder if it's such a good idea. I'm sure we'll be going up to bed and finding him flat out asleep next to his toy box! The frustrating thing is that my OH can seem to block the crying out but I just end up in tears myself.... I just keep chanting 'It's only a phase, it's only a phase' in the hope that'll drown out the noise.
