Subject : Anyone else suffering from long cycles since MC

I used to have cycles of 32 days but am now on my third cycle which looks like it is going to be around 45 days again. It is so frustrating as it makes the whole 2WW sooooo much longer. I'm pretty sure I am OVing around day 30 so I guess my body is working but just taking longer to do things. I saw the Dr last week and she said it is normal after a MC for your body to take a while to settle down, but if it carries on then they will do tests to check everything is OK.

I'm now on CD 34 so waiting not so patiently and symtom spotting like crazy. If it's not my turn this month then I am going to try and take a leaf out of a fellow posters book and be more relaxed about it next month and try to find other things to do to take my mind off it all.

Hiya,

I can't help with the long cycles as mine have more or less gone back to normal. I know that a lot of the girls on here have had this problem though, so hopefully one of them will be able to give you a bit more advice. At least your Dr sounds understanding, although hopefully you won't need to go for any tests

I know how difficult it is not to symptom spot as well, I was fine up till today but now I don't seem to be able to help myself (I'm 10dpo). I think distraction is a great idea!

hello!

#1 post d&c: 31 days
#2 post d&c: 39 days
currently on CD 11 of #3 and really hoping i'm back to the 28 day cycles i had before i got pg...

i think you're right about ov'ing on day 30 of a 45 day cycle - i really liked this article - says you ov 12-16 days prior to af regardless of cycle length...

http://www.frompregnancytobaby.com/blog/pregnancy/how-many-days-after-ovulation-do-you-get-your-period

hope they get back to normal soon...

Kristen, that article was really useful. I think I vaguely knew that you count back from the first day of your next period to get OV date, but this confirmed it for me. My body is pretty good at telling me when I OV - sore boobs, bloated and increased CM. This is definitely happening around CD 30 which then makes my cycle about 45 days. So I guess my body is working even if it is taking it's time to do so! Perhaps this will be my normal cycle lengh now.
