so, i'm on cd 51 and no sign of a period in sight. i've had numerous positive opks at different times but they clearly don't work for me so have binned them and reverted to BDing every 2 or 3 days (which i cannot recommend enough). i went to see the doc last thursday to discuss the lack of period and he has sent me for blood tests. he did ask whether i was stressed and i said, yes, very. he said, and i quote, that the ovulatory impulse in the brain was "exquisitely sensitive" to stress. i'm a bit dubious about that as, while i am stressed at the moment, i have had some seriously awful times in my life and ALWAYS been regular as clockwork before. why should my period go AWOL only now? i suspect that the thyroid op i had last year is behind all this, but the blood tests will help with that.

but i digress... anyway, over the weekend i started getting more CM. since coming off the pill in feb i have had very little CM, only one instance of EWCM in the first couple of weeks of coming off the pill which didn't coincide with ovulation as it was too early in my cycle. now this morning it looks like i am getting EWCM. we BDed last night. the thing is i am loath to mention the development in my pants as the opks put far too much pressure on him. should i stick with my every 2 days plan or try and seduce him again later?

I would try and seduce him again tonight - but DON't let on to him re the EWCM else, like you have said, it might put pressure on him.

Especially if the OPK's were putting him under pressure too.

Sorry - just to add, I'm doing the BD'ing every 2-3 days too this month and I have found it a lot easier so far (though we are on cd12)

As I am now approaching ov time I'm kind of toying with whether we would actually BD over all the "fertile" days instead of the 2-3 days.

Haven't decided yet, but I'm sure when I see the EWCM I'll make a firm decision

i think i'll see how i feel this evening. if i feel frisky, then i'll go for it. i do so hope that my body is just sorting itself out after being on the pill. maybe when you get older it just takes longer for that to happen?

I think our bodies are bizarre at the best of times vic - even more so when we've taken the pill or had the implant etc. After all they are synthetic hormones and our bodies aren't used to the normal ones.

So it could well just be your body adjusting. The fact that you have EWCM is a fab sign all of it's own - you should take full advantage

I'm not quite sure which wait is worse - the one whilst awaiting ov or the one after ov waiting to test
