Subject : O/T Can anyone help me find a wedding cake design?

I have hunted high and low to find a picture of a cake I like and I know some of you are a lot better with computers than I am. I need a picture to take to the cakemaker so they have some idea of what I want. I know I would like a 3 tiered square cake. My wedding theme is butterflies and my favours, decorations, bridesmaids and my dress are all either pink, ivory or silver so I am looking for something to fit in with this. I am looking for a cake thats is quite a simple design, any help would be really really appreciated xx

ok lots of ideas but, like LC said, it's a good idea to take a few pics and show her what you do and dont like from each

firstly there's a mass of resources here:

Thanks for all the links ladies!! I love the pink butterflies on Jellytots round cake, but I love the square design of your cake Pink Princess, I may have to steal it!! I like how the top tiers are at different angles but instead of flowers having pink butterflies placed about each tier, if you know what I mean?? Thanks again ladies!!!! xx

missfancyshoes - where are you based? I can't reccomend my cake maker highly enough - the 4 tier cake (bottom base is lemon, then carrot, then madiera sponge then choc) is costing me £247!

She did free samples which were beyond a doubt the best damn cake I ever had.

I too wanted a simple WHITE cake and as our flowers are lily's, it seemed fitting to have that as a cake topper. The pink ribbons won't be as pink as the pink in my wedding is quite light n subtle.

You could absolutely customise it with butterflies for sure!

Email me if you need more info :-))

Thanks PP, I am in Scotland, I am getting my cake made entirely of sponge, it is costing me £150, you have a great price for your cake though!! Especially for 4 tiers and 4 different types of sponge. It is a local cakemaker I have gone with, they only have 2 shops. Some of the cakes I looked at were nearer £500, which I thought was rather expensive seeing as its only gloing to get eaten!! So I was pleasantly surprised when I priced my cake with the local bakery. I take it you have a pink theme too? My dress is pink ivory and silver thats why I have picked those colours, its ronald joyce 55043. I am having my bm's in silver, what date is your wedding? x

Hey missfancy!

My wedding is in 59days!! OMg - getting close. My theme is also pink/ivory and i'm marrying in pink!! (i know, more over barbie right?)
£150 is a fab price to pay - good choice on sponge too, so many people turn there nose up at a non fruit wedding cake so good on us eh!

My BM's are in ivory - they look fab, I love there dresses (kept threatening them with a floral atrocity but couldn't bring myself to do it snigger)

roll on 5th September - when is your wedding ?

xx PP84 xx
