Subject : Where are her teeth?

My DD is now 13.5 months old and still no signs of her teeth!

It doesn't seem to bother her as she can still bite into most things and her gums have been hard for months now but she is still a gummy bear

Can you advise if any of your LO's got their first teeth late? If so did they then all come through in quick succession?

When should i start to really worry about this?

Many thanks

Hales

Charlotte has got a lot of teeth, her canines have come thru.

Sorry I know that doesn't help, but when we took her to the dentist last he said they don't worry unless they have no teeth at 12 months.

Does your hv know about no teeth? You could always ring your dentist and let him/her take a look if you are concerned.

I'm sure they will come thru at some point. Like everything with babies they all happen at different times.

I'm still waiting for Charlotte to walk independently and she's nearly 18 months. Whereas some lo's are walking as early as 10 months.

one of my friends had a lo who got her 1st tooth at 20m. They were told it is a good thing as they keep their baby teeth longer.

As long as there is no pain etc the teeth won't be compacting or anything. You'll probably find they'll come up all together. My lo got his first tooth at 9 months and has now got only his very back molars to go. His canines have been up a month or so. His came quickly.

Hope this helps

Hi my little boy didn't get his first tooth till he was 14months, then a 2nd at 15months and 3rd at about 17months. Then nothing again till about 21 months when about 5 showed all at the same time - bless him x
He is now 23 months and he has about 12 altogether so they have been quick and he is handling them all really well - i thought it would be hell for him having so many at once.
I saw the dentist when he was about 13months and like you i was a bit surprised that he didnt have any yet but my dentist seemed very unconcerned and didnt say it was a problem at all - i think he may have said to take him back if there were still none in 6 months time!
Someone also said to me that his milk teeth will last longer so it was a good thing but you can't help but be a little anxious when lots of much smaller babies have them x
Hope this helps xx

HI
I had to reply, I had the same thing with my daughter, she had just one tooth at 12 months, I thought she'd never have any!! Ofcourse they eventually came through, and they are straight and have no gaps etc, I was also told that the later the better. plus you dont have the hassle of cleaning them! that fight comes later!! they will come, dont worry, I know I did but its just one of those new mums things that you panic about, I imagined her having no teeth at 5 !!! all the best. x
