I don't really know the words I would use but it's always been my intention to be as honest as I could whilst still being age sensitive. I would reassure him that it's natural and you're not 'ill' but I'm not sure where I would go from there. I really hope I can avoid this one. ;-)

My son always follows me into the bathroom and has seen it all. He isnt at the stage of asking what im doing but I will probably tell him that im having my period and wait for the next question, whatever that is! I will be as open as possible with him and explain thats what happens to girls when they get older and its completely normal.

Hi

My lo always comes to toilet with me so he's used to seeing mummy changing sanitry towels, but fortunately he isn't at the stage were he asks what I'm doing. When it does come to the time of telling him I will probably just explain that it is something that happens to ladies once a month for a few days and it's nothing to worry about, it's very natural.

I did come downstairs the other day and he had taken an unused towel out of the packaging and was sticking it to the outside of his trousers on the crotch area, and when he noticed me looking he ripped it off and screwed it up behind his back. I'm looking forward to embarrassing him with that one when he's older, lol.

Hi
Its a difficult one isn't it when you have lo's following you to the loo.I never have any privacy in the loo. Both have asked questions and I reply with something like its mummys special toilet paper that she has to use sometimes.
My 2 year old as an obsession with opening up all the tampax packets and undoing all the towels and my 7 year old came into the bathroom and asked me what the huge plaster was for ( it was a sanitary towel) LOL!

My friends little girl burst in on her in the bathroom and asked 'have you been painting?' lol!
I think I'd just do as Denise007 says & wait for the next question.

I think Denise is right - don't give them more info than you need to or they will ask even more questions on the subject!

My friend picked her little girl up from nursery once and they took her to one side and asked why the little girl had been wearing a panty liner - she had obviously been trying to be like mummy and put one in her knickers when she went to the loo before nursery - mortifying!
