Subject : Hi ladies I have a question about mmc
Hi ladies firstly Im sorry to be posting in here as I dont want to bring back memorys for you all but I need some advise please.
I had a Missed misscarriage 6 years ago and found out at the 12 weeks scan , I had had no bleeding or pain etc so no prior warning except it was my first pregnancy and I had no symptoms at all.
Ive had two girls since a long with other misscarriages but not mmc.
Im currently 9 weeks pg and havent felt right, from the start the main reason being I have no symptoms except tiredness where as my two girls I suffered terribly and had hypermiss with my second, so I expected some sort of sickness at least
Today though I have had a wierd discharge its like clear EWCM but has a very very very pale brown colour to it. I wouldnt say it was blood as its no where near as dark (barely there colour actually) . My midwife is on hoilday for 2 weeks and her replacemt isnt interested, she just said well if your going to mc you will thee is nothing anyone can do about it , so there is no point in me sending you to the hospital! I rang my epau and they are no longer doing self refferals so unless the midwife books me in through them they wont except me. Same go for a & e they just said to speak to my midwife and get a refferal!
So obviously im panicking and brought a pregancy test Ive just done it and it is a very very strong positive the control line is really faint compared to the test line. So my question is if my baby dies at say 6 weeks would the tests be showing a fainter positve by now ? or will it stay this strong regardless?

Hi, part of me really does not want to post as i know everyone is different and really hope you are.
I had a mmc last week and had to go in for medical management on Thursday. The only symptom i had was a little brown discharge. Because i had 3 mcs previously my doctor referred me for an early scan.
i should i have been 8 weeks but the scan showed 5 weeks with no heart beat. I had mc. Really hope this is not the case for you. I would go to your doctor and see if they will send you just to put your mind at rest. Big positive thoughts going your way. Sara

Hi - first of all sorry you are going through this, not knowing. I think you should pester your midwife - she will give in eventually. If you have had previous mmc surley they will refer you for a scan?
I had a mmc 2 months ago and found out at my 1st routine scan. I had been sick, tired - all the symtoms I had with my 1st pregnancy that was fine. I am worried that I am going to be sooo worried next time I get pregnant and I will be annoying them until I get an early scan! I will want a scan at 9 weeks cos my last baby died at 8weeks. I hated knowing I had a dead baby inside me once I knew. I couldn't go through that again.
Pester your mw again in the morning - good luck and i hope all is well

hi Gem - sorry you are going through this torment. its unnecessary and the system really winds me up sometimes. Maybe it is true that there is nothing we can do to stop it from happening, but stressing about it when there is nothing to actually stress about isnt helping either!! Only how would you know unless they take a lookand give you the reassurance you need! Grrrrr!!
I figured it would be the case that they wont give you an early scan since youve had 2 successful pregnancies since, plus probably since your mmc was 6 years ago. It seems to differ how you are treated, depending on where you are.
I would also suggest going back and pestering that mw again. The last thing you need right now is to be stressed so explain that to them. Even if they didnt send you for a scan they can check for the baby's heart beat which would definately be detectable by 9 wks. I had a paranoid panic at 19 wks cos I felt too small and stopped feeling the baby move and I ended up walking in to the labour ward (it was a Sunday morning) and broke down in tears. Within a minute I had a midwife take me in a room, lay me down and check the heartbeat which offered me so much reassurance that nothing had gone wrong again without me knowing.
I hope you get some answers
xx

Hi SIl,
I agree with the others & pester your mw I understand about resources etc but at the end of the day if your sat worrying for weeks surely thats not good for you or bean.
When I had mmc I had loads of symptoms, extreme tiredness, vry sore boobs, hunger, nausea, sense of smell, peeing weight gain you name it I had it!!!
It was only while waiting for our scan at 12wks I started to feel really nervous & just had a feeling something was wrong. And it was they said that it was likely we had lost baba as sac was abnormal shape & showed signs of a haemorrage but had to go back a wk later just incase dates were wrong!!!, I still had +ve hpts and all my symptoms.
Keep pestering your mw until she gives in xxx

Hi ladies
:) everything is fine with my bubbs thank god . Heart is beating away etc. Im actually 2 days further gone than I thought not one I text erialc wrong in the excitment!
It was a agonising wait the sonographer couldnt see anything at first so we were sure it was over for us. In the end she did an internal scan and still couldnt see much because I have a serverly tilted womb so after uch sting on hands and lifting of bums , she turned the screen around and there was bubbs and a heart beat!
She measured and was a little unsure whether I was 9 +4 or 9+3 as it was such a hard scan but we wet with the earlier one as Ill have to have this one at 38 weeks (thought I was 9+1 today)
They think the bleeding is due to a second sac forming but unfortunatly the baby never managed to either form or it did form but wasnt viable. Im nt upset over this as they did say they would have advised me to abort one of the babys because I have lots of problems and am already high risk, so in away its took that decision away from me.
I also have a cyst the size of a grapefruit but its nthg to wory over and its why Im showing so early and can feel flutters already! so t least im not cracking up!
