Subject : it does actually work!

i have decided to start to BLW with Roxie. she was fed purees etc and we moved to lumps but she started turning her head away from the spoon so i thought i would try her with what we eat. she gagged at first and i nearly gave up but i persevered and it is really working now. today she has had porridge (she eats various soft stuff) and for lunch she has eaten half round of tuna and tomatoes and cucumber with organic wotsits. and for tea she has eaten sunday lunch and yoghurt. now the mess is horrendous but im finding it so much more satisfying watching her eat and hilarious! she ate strawberries and oranges yesterday stunner but my god the mess !!!
she eats brilliantly and we can all eat together! xx

That's brilliant.

We're still perservering with BLW most of the time, though he sometimes gets bored and frustrated with chewing so I offer some puree which he often wolfs down. Only bummer we've now reached in that he's kicking off about being in the highchair - he wants to be at the table like Mummy and Daddy. The pain of it is that his highchair doesn't easily go to the table as we have a sort of trim thing several inches deep that stops the arms from going all the way under, so he struggles to reach the food and then drops it in his lap a lot. not impressed that we might need a new highchair. :-(

I do love watching them eat. The chicken leg has been the best so far. Watching him use it as a scratching pole behind his ears makes me laugh - until I remember that he then needs another bath!

The mess is a nightmare, thankfully we do have a cat that acts like a hoover and she tackles a fair amount - even the yorkshire pudding was demolished this evening!
