Subject : 20 weeks scan, begining to worry!

I have my 20 week scan on tuesday (at 22 weeks) and im begining to freak out. I had a gender scan 2 weeks ago but im worried that perhaps she saw something wrong and just didnt mention it, can they do this?

I know its natural to worry but i love my little boy so much already i just want him to be healthy. Hubby is home tuesday after 2 weeks away which im sure is adding to my nervousness because he is not here.

Not sure what anyone can say just needed to say how im feeling.

Morning,
I can understand you being anxious. I am already stressing about mine and it isn't for another month!
I think if they had seen any thing major they would have asked for a second opinion or got someone to talk to you to recommend having an earlier check. I am sure verything will be fine.
I also get myself in to a pickle when my husband is away so hopefully he will reasure you when he gets back. All the best for Tuesday.

I was exactly the same - had my gender scan 3 weeks before but still managed to work myself up into a stress for the 20 week scan.

I have to say, it is a bit of a stressful scan cus they really do check everything but when they tell you your little boy is perfectly healthy it's the best feeling ever!

Good luck and try to enjoy it hon xx

Mine is tomorrow and i am terrified. I dont feel baby move much and have got myself into a right tizz about it.

However, i too had a gender scan 2 weeks ago and i am sure they would have a duty of care to us to tell us if there were any inconsistencies (sp).

It will be fine and ollie will be fine. Will let you know how mine goes tomorrow x x

Stop panicking!!! LOL! You are terrible for putting yourself under stress.
Seriously though dont worry, if they had seen anything to worry about they would have told you that there was some abnormality. Relax yourself and soon you will see that everything is fine. xxxxxxx

I think this is completely natural to feel like that. I am really scared too. I am 17 weeks today and got my 20 week scan coming up in the next 4 wweks and all I keep thinking about are the what ifs. They are driving me mad. I agree with Rosapenny if they had see sometihng then they would have said something to you. Relax and try to put those worries to the back of your mind (I need to take my own advice too!) xxx

Honestly hon, stressing won't help! I don't think they can see abnormalities and not tell you to get them checked out further, that'd be very unethical. I'm sure your scan will be fine! I've got mine Thursday, so once you've had yours I want to see more piccies of your gorgeous boy so I can get all excited about seeing my baby too! It's totally natural to be worried, I know I am, but just think how lovely it'll be to see your boy again! x x x

It's normal to be anxious before a scan- I have had 6 with my little girl and was pi$$ing it before each one! Although isn't it just the best thing when you are in there and watching the screen?!

I really think everything will be fine on Tuesday- try and keep yourself calm

In terms of your gender scan, if they see anything they think may be an issue I'm 100% sure they would tell you to contact your MW or hospital. It would be completely unethical to ignore it. You do need to remember though, for the gender scan they are looking for a winkie (or lack of) and for the anomaly scan they look (and measure!) everywhere, so I would thik the two experiences are very different

Best of luck!!
