took cariad swimming this morning and i finally dunked her under completely. i have been wanting to do it for a while now but dh has been too worried and kept putting me off.

but i know we had to do it and the younger she is the better so she will be used to it and not freak out when she is older.

well it went much better than i expected, did it 3 times and each time she came back up she smiled so she obviously enjoyed herself. was really scary but i managed

Well done Karen - it's so scary the first time you do it but really worth it. Abby absolutely loves it - when we say "Time to dunk!" she waves her arms around and grins at us. LOL! She will even happily fall off the side into the water. I haven't done any official classes but have been following the advice in the following DVD:

http://www.babyexperiences.co.uk/products.asp?product_id=72

It has some excellent safety points like floating and holding onto the side. Abby hates floating but can now hold herself onto the side of the pool without me holding her. In fact she fell over in the bath last week (she has her water very deep) and pulled herself out of the water and held onto the side for a good few seconds before I decided to rescue her.

Anyway I had my first photos of her done this morning so hopefully will be able to show them off by next weekend and encourage everyone to have a little waterbaby. Razz

H xx
