Subject : Anyone else noticed?

That all the stores seem to be getting rid of their maternity sections? I went to my local high street as I am putting on weight faster than you can say "Oi Fatty" and none of my maternity jeans fit anymore. So I tried New look, Dorothy Perkins, Next and even M&S only to be told they no longer stock their maternity clothes! What are they playing at? Even in the big shopping centres, the maternity ranges seem to be shrinking. I hate having to buy clothes online as I want to try it on, and feel the material and know that it fits! Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant, I think the sleepless nights are getting to me! xxx

I haven't bought a single maternity item in a shop, I've done it all online. I agree that it's annoying, as I'd rather try it on and check it fitted before shelling out the cash!
MrsB84 - I can't believe that Oxford Street H&M doesn't have a maternity section, surely that's the one you'd expect to have EVERY section!!!

Yes, I only started looking at maternity clothes last week and I've been very surprised by the lack of choice available. There has got be a market for it, surely there are plenty of pregnant people at all times. Rant over xx

I live in the lakes, and traveled to Lancaster, Kendal, penrith, carlilse looking for Mat wear when i was pregnant - I found one rail of it in new look in Lancaster and that was it!
It's so frustrating as I too liked to feel the fabric and know that it fitted

lawso - you're right, in fact, surely the pregnant market is a pretty much constant one, there are always pregnant ladies around!!! It's so frustrating, as I've just had to order a dress online for my wedding anniversary when normally I'd have gone round the shops. If it doesn't fit, I'm stuck really!

I've been quite fortunate, I've been able to get to Swindon which is about an hour away from me. And they've got maternity stuff in New Look, H&M, Dotty P's and a teeny bit in Debenhams. Although I did find a few bundles on ebay I managed to get them cheap enough take out what I liked and then resell the rest, even made a profit - bonus!

Ditto -I found some stuff in Peacocks and New Look in Liverpool, but when I went abck a couple of weeks later, both shops had smaller sections. I have had to get stuff online as well, which isn't great, although so far my choices have been lucky and fitted ok. Got some stuff from Next - you can return to store even if you got online and the store doesn't have a mat section.
Is so frustrating :(

I found a good way to save money was to go to old lady shops where they have the jeans with the elastic waists and buy those. Got a brand new pair of trousers for $7.50 I will still have to buy my tops on ebay but atleast I know my pants will fit.
