Subject : I CANT BREATHE!!!! Any ideas?!

Hey girls!!!

I just got my lovely new bed delivered today and was soooo looking forward to sinking into my memory foam matress untill.... I GOT INTO BED AND NOW I CANT BREATHE!!! GRRRR!!! Oh and just to mention I didnt expect to sink into the matress AS MUCH!! I got up and I spotted my OH look over to where I had been - look at the huge gaping whole - then get up and check what his was like and then look back at my side as if to say I must be a fatty!!!!! HOW RUDE LOL!!

Anyway what I wanted to say was...I suffer from really bad hayfever and if im honest it is getting me a bit down in the dumps as its really affecting my sleep!! :( It doesnt make it any easier that I can feel that the baby is quite high up in my tummy - and its limiting my breathing when im sat down!!

Does anyone have any remedies for hayfever? Ive tried the Vaseline in the nose - YUK lol!! Breathing in Eucalyptus in a facial steamer... Not opening any windows in the house lol even in this ridiculous heat!! None of them work so would appreciate any ideas you girls may have!!!

Hope you all have a nice weekend!!

Mwah xx

I have used the new Hayfever cream to put round your nose like vaseline, but not so strong - and that has worked quite well.

Also I have locked down the windows, by 5 every night to stop the it drifting in.

I have also started cooking with rape seed oil instead of olive oil, which is supposed to be a bit like eating honey.

NOTHING helps my itchy eyes though!!

But hopefully a bit a rain will give us both a bit of peace.

Oh hun that must be awful, its bad enough having a stuffy nose just with the heat never mind hayfever.
I was going to say I couldnt help as dont suffer from it, but then I remembered that I saw an ad in the back of my baby and pregnancy magazine. I suppose its worth a shot but it does sound quite good.
Its called haymax and is an organic balm (not sure where it goes), probably nose.
It is suitable for pregnant woman and traps the pollen I think.
It says its recommended by DR Chris Steele, you know him on this morning lol. You can get it from most chemists and selected lloyds, boots, tesco, waitrose and coop.
Really hope this helps and you get some relief soon.

BTW IM SO JEALOUS YOU HAVE A MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS!!!! I would love one but we cant afford one, might just get a mattress topper! Oh and pmsl @ your OH checking out your huge delve in the bed hehehehe...cheeky sod!!!!

hi, I'm just coming out of over a week of hell with hayfever. My dr prescribed me a Beconaise nasal spray and sodium chromagalate (sp) eye drops. My eyes cleared up almost immediately, but I started wheezing & couldn't breath. I called the on-call dr who said I could take piriton, which then made me drowzy, so I've been taking it when I go to bed & it's really helped me sleep. I read the instructions which said it was safe to take under dr instruction, where benefit to mother outways potential risk to baby - eg in 2nd trimester.

Now that the humidity's dropped, my wheezing is not as bad as it was, so I'll keep going with the spray & drops, but stop the piriton.

I hope you feel better soon. It's so not fun!

I've been suffering today and feeling generally full of snot (sorry tmi). I would recommned Beconase nasal spray, the dr & midwife said this was ok to take when I went for my 12 week scan. And you don't need a prescription for it, so you could get your OH to pop off down to tesco or boots to get it for you, that way you don't have to go outside and expose yourself to even more pollen and crap. Hope you feel better soon, I'm off to scoff biccies.

The nose spray works a little, and like d7b i've been taking piriton as its safe enough. Was too miserable not to. Still can't breathe at night so sit with pillows bunched up and wake every two minutes it seems. I'm snoring too and I don't normally cause I woke up at three last night and hubby wasn't in bed. He only sleeps on couch when I snore so I soon guessed why. Anyway better get to bed as I'm up at 6 for work, Hope you sleep better tonight. I've got my fingers crossed and nasal strip on :) x
