Hi ladies, its been a while. Decided to take a break from the site after MC in feb, it all got a bit much after all the doctors appointments, tablets, blood tests to then MC and felt like i was getting lost in this place that I couldn't, no matter how much I tried get out of. The break has done me good and I am feeling strong enough to finally come back. Hope you are all ok and I need updates on how you are all doing!!

S!!! It is so good to see you Happy

I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how you're getting on. I'm really pleased that having some time out has made you feel more positive and stronger.

I really hope that you get your much deserved sticky BFP very soon Smile

I am actually just gatecrashing as I am 12+4 now! Have had lots of brown discharge so far and a fresh bleed at just over 11 weeks so it's been a challenging first trimester and I'm still very nervous.

Anyway, hope to have you joining us over in pregnancy very soon.

Love NN 12+4 xxx

Hi Sweetie123,

Glad to hear you are feeling stronger. I know how you feel as I've had a shitty year too.

I had a miscarriage in Jan at 9+5, was delighted and nervous when I got pregnant within a month, a miracle considering it took 10 months for my first BFP to come along. Sadly I lost my beautiful baby boy at 22+5 and I am left here brokenhearted. We need to wait for the post mortem and the Consultant's reports to see what happens next. I'm too scared to try and get pregnant before the results come through.

The hospital has sent off loads of my blood for testing and so I'm hoping that once these results are back they will be able to do something for me. There is something called Hughes Syndrome which causes multiple miscarriages so I've asked to be tested for that. It is just a blood test. The good news is that if it is Hughes Syndrome they can treat you with low dose aspirin and heparin injections. I think it is disgusting that something so simple to treat is not tested for routinely. when I was pregnant they tested for HIV etc and lots of other things but not this one. At 22 weeks we really thought we were out of danger but now our hopes and dreams have been snatched from us.

It might be worth speaking to your GP to get tested for Hughes Syndrome, if only to give you peace of mind before you become pregnant again.

Sorry for the long post but I find it therapeutic to share my story and I want to raise awareness about Hughes Syndrome, even if it turns out I don't have it. If I can prevent other women from going through miscarriage it means my son did not die for nothing.

Welcome back. I hope your stay with us is very short!
