I am really interested in this, and figure that even if it makes no difference to the birth, it's still a good way to learn to relax in the run up to it. I feel a bit panicky when I think about labour, and I want to think happy thoughts la la la Happy

Does anyone have any recommendations of good CDs/books to buy?

Thanks
Coco 30+3 xx

Hypnobirthing

Hiya

I done a great course over 5 weeks and the relaxation techniques really seem to work (just hope they do during labour) If you email me I will send you the details of the book and about the CD etc

Hypnobirthing

Hi, I used a natal hypnotherapy CD to prepare for my births - here's the link: http://www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk/7.html

I used the homebirth one - I tried for a homebirth with my first, and although I went to a birth centre for my second most of the CD could be used for any birth so it was still good. I didn't use any of the visualisation techniques during labour, but the CD was great for relaxing me and making me feel more positive about labour, which I think is very important. It was also very helpful to do the relaxing and deep breathing with the CD, as I found the deep breathing very useful during labour.

I'd definitely recommend getting a CD - just pick the one most appropriate for where you plan to give birth xx
