Just found out that a lady in my team at work is 16 weeks PG. We sit open plan and she is in my direct line of sight, so I'll be treated to a daily view of her expanding tum. Don't get me wrong - I am delighted for her, she is a lovely lady and I have no doubt this is a much wanted baby who will be very loved.

BUT I know that there will be days over the next five months when I will feel sorry for myself and get twinges (who am I kidding? more like overwhelming surges!) of envy. I know it's a normal reaction, but it isn't going to make it any easier when it happens. I'll just have to plaster on the smile and say all the right things.

I have had the "ooooh how exciting for you!!" chat and asked all the right questions. She obviously wouldn't know I'm struggling to have a baby, and even if she did, it's not as if I would expect her to do anything differently.

I momentarily considered asking to move desks, but then realised that is an insane overreaction, and not worth pursuing.

No need to answer - just wanted to get it off my chest.

aw chick no wonder its bad enough it all being in your head day to day without a full view reminder all during work, again not the ladies fault at all but totally get where your coming from, sending you a great big hug and a kiss mwah

Totally know where you're coming from Mrs D and think you are handling it really well. If I have to hear that one more person I know is pregnant I may not be responsible for my actions! I've got friends I haven't seen in weeks/month because of it so well done for keeping your feelings under control and having the chat with her xx

Ah hun I know how you feel
One of my closest friends is 6 months pregnant so I have to deal with that and 3 people in my office have been pregnant in the last few months!
It's bad enough that we have to deal with it every minute of every day but to have to have it in our faces all the time is just so hard to deal with
Of course it's not their fault but it doesn't make it any easier :-( xx

Totally understandable. I see pregnant ladies everywhere I seem to go - on the train, on the TV, in magazines and a pang of envy shoots through me every time - I wish it was me.......................................................:cry:

Perfectly reasonable reaction I think! I'm getting fed up of people now having their second baby in the time I've been ttc!
