Subject : Which wait is worse?

The wait to ov and get BDing or the 2ww?

As this is my first month TTC and I have quite long-ish cycles I think the wait to ov is worse as I'm currently cd16 and still nothing showing on OPK so looks like I have another week to wait, at least the 2ww is only 2weeks. I'm so impatient though and I can't keep my mind on anything for more than 5 mins even though I have a major deadline approaching and I'm not even ovulating yet!! How on Earth do you girls keep your minds off it for months on end. Tips please!

Tink

Right now I am CD5 and would say its the wait to ov which is worse.

But when I'm in the 2ww I think that is worse because you just want to know either way, and aren't sure if you can drink etc.

As for tips to take the mind off it, i have no idea!!!!!

Hi tink-a-belle, i personaly think the 2ww is the worst because once youve got to that stage there is nothing that you can do except wait!!
Whilst your waiting for ov though you can prepare and get ready for D-day by taking temp, poas (ovks) or using your cbfm and shopping for hpts! lol.
Im also still waiting for ov, currently on cd12 and expect ov to be between cd22-25!!
How long is your cycle? xxxx

Definitely the 2ww, we are on month 7 now too!

We live by the sea (near Portsmouth) so constantly taking the dogs down the beach for hours every day helps take my mind off - shopping helps too! x

My last cycle was 38 days but I the one before was 34, I am covering all my bases and working out when I'd ovulate between a 32 and 40 day cycle, lol, been POAS but there is nothing there. How many days before ov would you expect even a faint line to show up on an OPK?

I also think the wait to ov is worse because until you get confirmation that you've ov'd, in the back of your mind you're worried that you don't ov at all! At least that is how I'm feeling right now x

MrsApril bride, I live in Pompey too! (Southsea) and I am off now for a walk down the front to take my mind off it (and this deadline). I am just waiting for the post and then I'm off for an ice cream :)

My puppy is with my parents this week though so I''m on my own :(

That sounds very sensible tink-a-belle working out possible ov dates for a cycle between 32-40 days!!
My cycle can vary between 32 and 35 days!
I would say that you should start to get a faint line for at least 4-5 days before a + but dont quote me on that!! lol. xxx

Ooh, love Southsea. We live in Alverstoke! What puppy have you got? We have two golden retrievers, Oscar is 8 months and Bailey has just turned one. They do not have a brain cell to rub together lol. x

I've got a westie cross scottie called Nala who is 9 months and such a handful, she really is a nut case.

I have just been down the front and have decided that if its sunny I want a picnic on the beach on Saturday as I was so jealous of all the people doing it today :)

I agree, for me its the wait to ovulate. I usually ovulate on Day 16 ish (although last 3 months have been late and still no sign this month and im on CD18). My luteal phase is 12 days so much less of a wait although im sure my opinion will chance once I reach the 2WW... x

For me it is def the 2WW.

My CBFM won't let me pee on any more sticks and there is nothing I can do but wait.

Dog walking definately helps. We have a 7 month old labradoodle called Bear and he definately keeps us very busy.

I also write lots of lists in the 2ww to take my mind off things. Lists for work, shopping, things I would like to do to the house, baby names Smile .

Definately the 2ww for me, I spend the first week full of hope and the second week in state of crazed symptom spotting but with dropping PMA as I realise that ALL pregnancy symptoms are identical to pre-menstrual symptoms! The wait until OV is fine, I forget about ttc and get on with things which is why I am on here less at the beginning of the month and then can't stay away in the 2ww.
