morning ladies...just wondered if anyone elses LO was a noisy sleeper?

I kid you not, over the last 2-3 weeks the minute Grace is laid flat she makes such strange noises and kicks her arms and legs about until she is in a deep sleep...then she's quiet until she starts to wake again and for about an hour she makes the same noises before waking fully! i dont need any alarm to get her night feeds sorted!

her breathing is fine so I'm not that worried but it's keeping me awake as she's at my side of the bed...plus I'm not sure she's actually getting a restful sleep....

she literally sounds like a shetland pony (no offence to shetlands!!) but it's driving me crazy and I don't know how to stop or ease it...I've tried raising her matress slightly so she's not completely flat and failed...but she doesn't make the noises when shr's asleep on us!!

any ideas? suggestions? sanity checks?! xxx

Joshy is exactly the same as Grace (see they make a perfect couple LOL) - although he's more of a very loud beevis and butthead!! He's also quiet when he's asleep on us and he's actually quieter when he's asleep during the day funnily enough!
My HV advised raising the end of his moses basket or cot (as she said it could just be mucas that is lying on his chest as babies can't cough to get rid of it - but nothing to worry about) .....which you've already tried. Not sure what else to suggest hon.
This is the reason I had to submit and move him into his nursery, which was really sad as he actually slept well in our room but was just too darn noisy! One of these days I swear I'm going to video record him sleeping and play it back to him during his wedding or something LOL

Hope you manage to get something sorted. Might be worth asking your HV to see if she has any other tips/advice hon!

Pops is the same. She sounds like a guinea pig and I too, have plenty of warning to get her bottle ready - she seldom has to break into one! I think it'll sort itself out (hope so - no man would marry her making those noises!! )

me to, annabelle makes lots of noises! and her basket is right beside me so i am awake quite alot. xx

got it!the noises that jess makes in her sleep its a cross between a guinea pig and morph remember morph from tony harts art programme??maybe some of you are too young!i lie just giggling at her sometimes x

Oh bumpy I used to love Morph!!! They don't make kids programmes like they used to do they?!! OOOh dear I'm really showing my age now by coming out with phrases like that LOL

Bagpuss was a legend and don't even get me started on the Flumps!! The flumps rock - hence the reason I called Joshy, Flump when he was my bump!

Oh i loved morph but didnt like tony though.
Anyway Olivia is the same at night. I think all babies make loads of noise. I told my mum when i was pregnant that i would be having her in my room for about 6 months as per recommendations and she thought i was mad. She said she doesnt know how anyone sleeps in the same room as a newborn. She said she tried me in the room with her for 2 nights then put me in my own room

thomas has made lots of strange animal noises since he's been born bless him!! i laugh most of the time but sometimes when i want to get back to sleep i don't find it as funny! xxx

Phoebe sounds like a mogwai from Gremlins...think I should claim a bad mother award.....I wear earplugs at night!!! always have to anyway and can't get out of the habit.

Hubby gets up with Phoebe first when she cries to change her and see if he can soothe her or if she's hungry. Just wore one whilst on my own in hospital, and I do take the plugs out when he goes to work and it's just me and her, lol!! x

PS how lovely was bagpuss, I loved morph too!!

okay thanks, bit anaemic though and can't take iron tabs as they constipate me terribly! will post an update when got energy and my birth story.

Mum has chemo today, she is very positive as ever and consultant thinks they'll do a scan in 6 weeks to check progress, thank you for asking hon, hope you and baby Jessica are doing well. x
