Subject : Knowing what to do for the best! Opinions please xx

Hi

My nearly 3 year old daughter is current one day at a child minder and 2 days at a day nursery. For 6 months + we have discussed changing her to a Montessori nursery for the three days. The Montessori nursery had an open day so we visited it and were very impressed the children seemed very forward for their age and they grow thier own vegetables ! They only take 3 children at any one time.

When my daughter turns three she is eligable to start the local Primary School for 5 half days, but as I work full days getting her collected at 11:30 would cause a problem.
My dilema is-
- Should I change her nursery to the Montessori nursery because the children seem to be developing well? And continue there untill she reaches Primary school age (4½)
- Should I just stick to where she is and then place her in the local primary school nursery when she turns three?
- If she was to go to the Montessori nursery would she loose out socially as she would be only mixing with2 others rather than 10 other?

Please opinions needed!!!!
Bev

Hi
My sister use to work at a montessori and tbh she said to me it wouldnt be worth sending my daughter as most go onto private school and there would be no way I would send my daughter to private school, mainly due to not being able to afford it!
I chose for my daughter to go to a preschool (most take children from 2 and half years and potty/toilet trainned)
My daughter is just heading into main school now and alot of the children in her class have been to play school and the difference is amazing, not only in the attitude of the children but also in that my daughter has already been taught all her letters, sounds of letters and numbers, she can spell and write her own full name and the teacher (at the main school) has said that they will start to teach the children 3 letter sounds a week! this has worried me as my daughter already knows them and i believe it has all been down to her fabulous pre school and she only started there when she was 3 (so a year ago)
is there a pre school around you? They follow a circiculum at pre school and well as you now know i love pre schools x

It sounds lovely but I think I would be worried about how she would feel going from that to a classroom of children when she goes p to school.

Whatever you do I hope it works out.
