Subject : Advice please - should I change bottles???

Hi Ladies,

Can you please let me know what you think about the following.

I have been using TT closer to nature bottles since emma was born. She has gaviscon in her milk which makes it thicker, and her milk is C & G hungry baby,

When she feeds it can take up to an hour for her to have an 8 oz bottle. She faffs about a lot, and pulls away from the teat. I've always thought it was her reflux, so have just carried on with it.

However, I got a free MAM Anti-Colic bottle, so I thought I'd give it a try.

She just drank 8oz in 20 minutes!!!!!

She seemed so much more content whilst feeding, and she's actually gone down for a nap now.

I'm going to sterilise the bottle so I can use it again at her 2pm feed. But it does seem like she prefers the MAM bottle.

Has anyone else changed bottles?? Do any of you think it would be worth buying o load of MAM bottles now??

Thanks,

marnie

have you considerd changing teets instead (ie if you are still on 1 to variflow or 2) might save you some money they're about 3.50 for 2, maybe try it before you buy a load esp if you have all tommee tippee accesories (warmer/steriliser/formula dispensers etc)

Yep - we're on number 2 teats already. I did try no. 3 (6mth+), but she brought the whole lot straight back up!!! Not pretty....

The MAM bottle has a no 2 teat as well.

Tbh I would definitely change bottles if it meant the difference between a feed taking 1 hour or 20 mins - I like to make my life as easy as possible! LOL! Don't know how many TT bottles you have, but we only have 4 bottles for Noah - just the right amount to fit in our steriliser in one go. So unless you like having lots of bottles you'd only need to spend a bit more.

We changed bottles once. Used TT bottles with Jacob with no problems so got some for Noah in case I couldn't bf again (I couldn't), but only used them for 2 feeds when I got out of the birthing centre - he couldn't get on with them and dribbled milk everywhere, so I sent hubby on an emergency shop for Avent bottles, which I knew he got on with as he had these in the birthing centre xx

We've swapped bottles twice! Wilf couldn't get anything out of the tt ones so we swapped to Avent, which were great. Unfortunately he suffers heavily with the trapped wind so we got 2 Dr Browns bottles and that seems to have helped. We just keep washing and sterilising the 2 though and it seems to be working well rather than buy any more. Anything to make life easier!
