Hi Lougla, how did it go 30th July?
and how you getting on SarahW2007?
thanks to your advice I got my OH to go to the doc for his pot, he left his sample at the hospital this morning so we've gotta wait for the results. I go to my appointment tomorrow. I wanted to check it was just chatting, or if they have a look at you on your first appointment as if so I'll leave work even sooner to have a quick shower first!!
have either of you been charting? I'm using 'taking charge of your fertility' software, which I stupidly paid for - I say stupid for two reasons - I didn't know there are loads of free websites out there and also because I totally don't understand what I'm doing or how to read my results!
anyway, the chart thinks due to a thermal shift (?) that I ovulated for the first time since I've been charting (January - Aug 09) in July, when I was on holiday and thankfully having plenty of sex. it's slightly got my hopes up, but I'm trying very hard not to get excited, as I don't think I'm pregnant, but it'd be soooo good if my body was ovualting.

Hi,
I have been trying to conceive for just under a year and have been trying to chart since January. I've not had a period since January.
Anyway, everything's happening at once and I really need some advice.
I went for my first appointment at the infertility clinc today, they took three swabs from my cervix, and put some gel inside me for me to go for an Xray to check my tubes (although by mistake I ended up not going for the Xray today) and have been prescribed Provera which I have to take for the next 5 days to induce a bleed so I can have bloods taken at day 1 and 28 of my cycle.
However, my chart is saying for the first time since I may have ovulated and may be pregnant. I've already taken one of the Provera tablets (which is progesterone basically) and now don't know if I should stop and do a test in a few days to see if I get another negative (was negative today), and then proceed with the rest of the tablets (of course praying for a BFP) as if I take them will I be causing myself to potentially miscarry? Or is it too late cos with all of the swabs, gel & one tablet it will cause that anyway? Or what?
Please can someone help as I haven't a clue what to do! :\(

Hi Lyndsay,
I cant offer you much advice really, I doubt one tablet or the tests would have really caused any potential damage.
I too had to take provera and paniced so much incase I was pg, even tho there was very little chance. How many days past ov do you think you are? If its more than say 15 I would say your test was more than likely right.
Its hard to say, if you dont take the provera properly tho it may not work either

Thanks LoubyLou81
I'm 19 days past the date when the chart's saying I've ovulated, but then how much can an online chart really tell from temperature alone?
I don't feel pregnant, but with it saying these results for the first time in 8 months I've paid a little more attention to them.
I guess you're right about the tablets - as there are only 10 I can't just stop now I've had one or that could interfere with their effect and then delay my blood tests further...
who knew making a baby could be this full of worry?! It's insane and I just feel like everything I've ever been told about making a baby was a big fat lie! Guess I'm not alone with that thought.

Oh tell me about it.
Im not an expert but I reckon 19 dpo would mean that the test is prob right, a bfp would almost certainly have shown by now I would think.
Do they have any ideas what are causing you trouble to concieve?
I have polycystic ovaries and this can cause in accurate temp results. Perhaps there is a similar reason for why your charts said you ov'd this time

they did a scan of my ovaries a couple of years ago and said I had cysts but I wasn't a typical PCOS case, rather that I came under the 'umbrella' of it what ever that means. My hormones are apparently OK whenever they do my bloods.
I'm hoping this is the start of them finding out, but I just don't want to wait the amount of time you have to.
This has become something I never wanted it to, but now it has done I can't help but think about it all the time.
