Subject : Bathing toddler & baby together?

Hi, just wondered if anyone baths their lo's together? Nina is 3 months and Angelo 21 months and at the moment myself or oh gets Angelo ready for bed whilst the other watches Nina and then I start her bedtime routine once Angelo is in bed. I have one night a week when oh is working late and it would really help if I could bathe both of them together but can't get my head around it! Firstly, I'm worried about the danger aspect, Nina would be in her bath support but Angelo is a very lively little monkey and all over the place. Wonrried he will fall on her! Then, what to do with Nina whilst getting Angelo to bed, bearing in mind she normally screams when she comes out of the bath and usually gets her milk straight away.

Just wondered if anyone else has gotten round this? Am I better of waiting until she can sit up?

Hi, mine are 2 1/2 and 3 months. I put older one in first, get baby undressed and in the bath. He doesn't have a support I just hold him. Older one helps wash him then he gets out and dressed while she has a play. Then he is happy laying on the mat or in his bouncy chair in the bathroom while she gets washed and dressed.

Then downstairs for hair dry and back up to bed for story. Then baby comes back down and has his milk before his bedtime.

It works well for me, but I think i'm lucky at having a relaxed chilled out baby that loves his bath and is happy to wait until its his turn.

Hi, sounds like you've got a great routine going on there. My baby is usually very relaxed and chilled until that time of the evening and then she just won't let me put her down!
I think I'm going to wait until she can sit up and hopefully by then will be easier in the evenings and my toddler can do a little more for himself. x

My 2 are bigger now, 2 and 3, but ive got 16 mths between them. I used to always bath them together, and usually on my own as oH works shifts.

I took them both upstairs, put baby in bed and undressed older one, then undressed baby. Took them both through and put them in bath. I had one of the plastic shaped supports which was fab. Id get them out then one at a time and take them through to the bedroom in their towels. Dress them together and take them downstairs for milk. The older one would watch tv with his milk while i fed the baby. Then we all went upstairs together. The baby got put in his cot while i settled the older one and the baby had usually fallen asleep by the time i went back through.

The only prob i had was sometimes the baby was hungry and screamed while we were getting dressed, but i just did it really fast.

It is possible and will get easier for a wee while. Then im sorry to say it will get harder again when they are both running away!!!

i tend to bath my two toghether esp when their dad's at work late.
i put dan in the bath first (oldest), and then i get sophie undresssed into the bath just keeping a hold of her.
get her quickly washed get ready for bed, then get daniel out, get him readty for bed, both downstairs for their milk then soph goes up to bed and i have another half hour maybe hour with daniel then he's off to bed.
you just have to make little changes to the bath/bedtime routine and then it will all fall into place
