Subject : Personal Question
Hi everyone!
Got a personal question regardngn sex. Have a daughter at 20 months and only had sex a handful of times because it hurts. To be honest I have been putting it off and getting really nervous and I know that isn't helping and was wondering if any of you could give me a little advise on getting over the nerves. Thought of having a glass of wine to help relax but don't drink so thats not going to work!lol

Dont go straight to full sex, for a few times why dont you and your oh try just foreplay, or massage, take the pressure of intercourse away. Once you are more relaxed and prepared it might not hurt as much.

trying to take the pressure away is a good idea. 20 months is quite a long time for still having pain related to the birth. did you have a very traumatic birth? have you spoken to ur gp about this. did you watch that 'embarrising bodies' on channel 4 last week. there was a women on that who was having problems with sex and hadn't had sex for a year cause it was hurting her so much and the doctors on there managed to help her and they said to speak to ur gp about it because there are things thay can do to help. i know that the program has a wedsite too, there might be something on there. good luck, and hope ur feeling better soon.xx

Thank you for all your replies!
No I never had a traumatic birth but I did have a few stitches. To be honest at first I was scared that having sex would open up the stitches - how silly i know - but now its more a case of the fear of it hurting because its been so long and I'm tensing up in the fear of it being sore.
Think we'll try doing your suggestion of not full sex at first and then eventually full sex and if its still hurting then I'll call my gp.
Thank you for all your help ladies!
