Subject : WAY tmi... update

i'm actually a bit embarrased typing this but i wanted to find out if this was just me before facing my Gp.

i had an em c section on 21st march, and to try and 'cheer myself up' about it i thought one of the por's would be that everything would still be normal in the downstairs department. only thing is it's not. we tried to have sex 4 weeks after ds was born and i was really really sore down below (scar was fine tho) almost like a burning. so left it a few more weeks and tried again the other night (10weeks postnatal) and it still really hurts. it's not cos i'm tensing up or anything cos i honestly didn't expect it to hurt so was completely relaxed etc. and...even more tmi coming... i got OH to take a look for me and he said it's really red, almost deep purple and quite 'angry' looking lol. i have no discomfort at any other time so i'm totally baffled. the only thing i can think of is the many many internals i had during my 5 day long induction has damaged me, especially as one of the times the mw scrpaed the gel against me and i was in tears it hurt so much. or could it be possible that my pelvic floors have dropped or somethig? tho i don't understand that as my wee control etc is perfectly as it was before i was even pregnant.

any help or advice would be much appreciated and i apologise for the tmi

thanks again

well went to docs, who did an examination, said it all looked healthy but possibly underlying thrush, so she gave some canestan which made it all worse! went back saw a different doc who took a look and said it looked sore and red. she took a swab which has now come back saying there is no infection at all. so she's now referred me to a gynea. fingers crossed i get some answers soon cos it's 6 weeks since I first posted this and am beginning to miss a sex life lol

Hi I would 2nd that sounds like you have an infection - I've had 2 c-sections and 3 normal births and what you've described doesn't sound right (((hugs)))

I had an emergency section (also on 21st march but of last year) and had what you describe. I had an infection but never connected the two as it has still been painful to have sex up until a month or so ago (so like a full year). Thankfully its better now!!! I would go get checked out for your piece of mind and hope yours resolves itself quicker than mine did!
