Hi all,

Hope everyone is really well. How is everything JCB'08???

My morning sickness is now all day and all night sickness, I feel so sorry for my poor husband who wakes up every time I move at night, so is getting as little sleep as me!!! Ended up having the day off today as am so exhausted. Am eating every 2 hours so I can try and keep on top of the sickness.

Only 2 more sleeps until our scan......we are so excited.

Will keep everyone updated on Friday once we know whether it is one or two!!!!

Love

Lanni

Hi lanni,
Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough, but it must be reassuring to have symptoms, though?
We're so scared about tomorrow but just have to keep everything crossed that it's going to be fine this time.
Bet you're having twins!!!
Good luck tomorrow.

Hi,

Thank you everyone for the lovely messages. We had our scan at 8.45am this morning and it was amazing! Saw absolutely everything, we couldn't believe it, and there at the top corner of the scan was this little flashing area.....the heartbeat! Unbelievable!! They confirmed that we are expecting one little baby, which we are absolutely over the moon about (means we can do ICSI all over again in a few years time!!!!!!!).

Hubby and I cannot stop looking at the picture! Looking forward to our next scan at 9 weeks now as apparently will be able to see arms and legs etc!!!

Sickness is not great. Like clockwork every two hours feel terrible, sick and occasionally will be sick. Melon is helping at the moment as even ginger is making me feel sick!!!! One of my Drs at work yesterday walked past me with a cup of tea and I had to run in the opposite direction before I threw up!!!!! Oh well!

Is anyone still taking Cyclogest? I am being given conflicting advice. The ACU unit where the IVF was managed are not recommending it, but the unit where the egg collection was done (because of my diabetes and Addisons disease I had to go into a high risk unit to have the collection and transfer done!) have said continue taking it until 12 weeks! I have done some research and apparently it doesn't help as the corpus luetum should be producing enough progesterone anyway!!! What has everyone else been told??

JCB'08 - I am so so sorry about your news. I really hope that you are in the 3%. My thoughts are with you and your other half at this very sad time. I do hope you get the investigations you need.

Love

Lanni

Hi Lanni,

Congratulations on everything going well for you :-)
Re the cyclogest i have only been taking it a week but our clinic advises that you take it for 12weeks. I haven't done any research yet as want to wait and see if i get a BFP yet. Did you get any side effects with them though cos mine make me feel so sick!!

Hi Lanni

I was interested to read your post as like you I have Addisons' Disease and hypothyroidism. My husband and I are going through our first round of IVF and ICSI (due to low sperm motility and normal forms) at the moment with our egg collection due next week.

I'm wondering whether you took extra hydrocortisone for the egg collection? and how you felt afterwards? I'm thinking that I will only need a little extra than normal if any at all, maybe 5mg more.

All best wishes to you.
