Would love to help...but 2yr old has never been a good sleeper and still isn't! However it might be worth speaking to your health visitor as most clinics have a sleep clinic once a week, so it might help going along there for a chat.

Hello
I am having the same problem, my daughter is 6 months and was sleeping right through from 8 weeks. Now she is waking once/twice a night.
She is taking a full feed (bottle) and returning to sleep.
Would it be a growth spurt, or the fact I am weaning her? Thanks:\?

I had terrible problems with my baby girl sleeping, from 2-4.5 months her sleeping at night got progressively worse! She went from waking once a night to gradually waking every hour, eventually at 3 months she was sleepi g in bed with me on my chest untill she was asleep then I would place her on the other side of the bed. I would repeat the process x5+ times a night untill for about 4 wks she was waking every hour and wouldn't even sleep in my bed! I read everything on the Internet, moved her cot, put lavender in the room, adjusted the temp of the room and what she was wearing, bought William sears book about the gentle approach to calming the fussy baby! Nothing worked, not only was I exhaused but lily wasn't getting the sleep she needed. So at 4.5 months I took her to a cranial osteopath who is a very gentle man who said in not so many words to do the controlled crying. This was my abdolut last resort, but o had to do something, I was dreading hours of my little baby crying. It wasn't too bad lily only got to 7 Mins and at each visit to her room she had the biggest cuddles ever! After 3 nights she was sleeping in her cot and only waking once. She was much more content as she was getting the sleep she needed. Obviously every baby is different, but I realised that doing the controlled crying wasn't just about being 'mean' but enabling lily to get the sleep she needed to grow and repair. I hope this is helpful xx
