Child Trust Fund - Where did u put ur money?
I know this isn't very exciting but i haven't a clue where to put the £250 voucher. i read through the advice booklet several times and im still lost.
I would like to open a stakeholder account but with the economy as it is - is this silly?
A savings account is the safer option but my child will potentially get less at the end.
Where have u all put ur vouchers? Which provider did u use?
Thanks for ur help everyone!

Hi. Tell me about it! They give you a leaflet then expect you to invest it. Give me a crystal ball to look 18 yrs into the future then I'll be sure what to do.
As I understand it is better to buy shares now as you get more for your money, & the likelyhood of the economy staying as it is for 18 yrs is slim.
I think, I'm going to put the CTF money into a stakeholder account with The Children's Mutual. They've been going for 125 yrs, they have won awards for their CTF & they work with The Royal College of Midwives.
Hope this helps! x

I've put both my boys in Stakeholder accounts with The Children's Mutual. We also pay in monthly and then pay in lump sums every so often say after they get birthday/xmas money etc.

My daughters is in nationwide savings. for the simple fact that the money we put in she will get back plus interest. i didnt want to risk losing any of it as we save all her birthday, christmas money and we put a lump sum in each year too.
i know u can get more back with shares but for me it was too much of a risk with money thats not mine x

Nationwide, I wanted to guarantee he got something out of it and let's face it by the time our children are old enough it'll be worth peanuts wherever it's kept!

I put mine in Childrens Mutual, I agree with waiting4baby, it'll all be worth peanuts eventually (
The £190 mum grant is a different story, you get that straight away and is a good way to stock up on baby essentials.
