Subject : Cbeebies Cerri i cant believe people are asking for her removal! what is wrong with people? i think she is great and much better than the last female presenter though i think the male is a ****! i cant believe peopel are so sad as to cause a lovely person heartache over a disability, maybe these people should take a good hard look at themselves to see why this country is the way it is! |

Subject : Cbeebies Cerri *Takes a very deep breath* As a mum of 3 disabled children, I find their attitudes disgraceful beyound belief and yet at the same time I wonder how on earth they will get through life tbh. *If* they tried to talk to their children they will more than likely find that they are more accepting and understanding than they think they are. It's adults who over react to situations that scare children not children being scarred or scared for life because of different people and situations. I actually feel sorry for those parents and it makes me wonder how on earth they will cope when their children get older and start to ask questions about sex, babies, why they are the colour they are ect especially if they can't simple explain that everyone is different and not one person is the same whether it be different sex, from different coutries so different lanuages and disability ect. It's also quiet sad aswell to still think people still discriminate, are so prejudiced and are ill informed against those with disabilities. And it makes me feel sad as I do wonder how much will my own children face in their future. I hope the BBC throw the complaints straight into the bin because to me that's where they belong!

Subject : Cbeebies Cerri I didn't know about this till I read this post and I think it is shocking! I can't believe people in this day and age are so narrow minded. As Joanne said, I doubt very much it is the children who are troubled by it - more likely to be their ignorant parents. |

Subject : Cbeebies Cerri Hi - when I noticed the new presenter the other day I must admit I did find myself wondering whether my six year old would say anything. After about the third day of watching, she suddenly piped up with "that lady hasn't got an arm on!". She asked why, and I said it was probably an accident. She said, "well it must have happened this morning, because she had an arm yesterday." When I told her that it had been longer than that she was amazed. So I think basically, kids take these things much more in their stride than adults do - which is something these stupid people should probably bear in mind. I have absolutely no problem with the lady - why should I? The only problem I have is that the pair of them aren't as good as Chris & Pui!! I do think it is disgraceful - all these nutter parents who are more stressed about it than they have a right to be, especially when their children barely take any notice. And as my daughter said: "at least she only needs one glove". Ever practical! But, do these people think that anyone who doesn't fit into the standard should not be seen? Does that apply to people who are overweight too? Or a bit spotty? Or how about people with one ear higher than the other...? Do they put a cover over their child's eyes when they go out in the hope they don't see anything 'scary'? I know the the presenter will no doubt be fully aware of the rubbish that's been spouted, and I just hope she hasn't got too upset by it all (although there is every chance she has). I wish her the best and advise her to remember there are ignorant people everywhere. But then she probably already knows that! x |

Subject : Cbeebies Cerri I think its terrible that the bbc are even thinking of taking her off air. I was watching it with Alice the other day (she is 4 and misses nothing) and the presenters were dancing around and waving their arms around, I was waiting for Alice to say something but she just carried on and danced with them, then halfway through the next program she mentioned it but that was that. Children are very accepting and to be honest I think its the narrow minded parents who have complained and used their children as an excuse. it is totally pathetic! Rant over xx |

Subject : Cbeebies Cerri *takes a huge breath* Okay i'm totally disgusted by this wow wee she's lost part of her arm big deal! my 5yo hasn't even noticed! so i've made a complaint! this is a copy of what i sent:
Quote: I've just heard something totally disgusting that CBeebies presenter Cerri is being possibliy taken off air due to having part of her arm missing---well i'm totally disgusted! I know some people are afraid of what they don't understand, but it hasn't even had an effect of my 5 year old, if this goes ahead and happens then i'll be bitterly disappointed by the narrow mindedness of some! please don't let this happen, surely the BBC doesn't want to be known as a discrimative organisation! I've totally got my claws out atm and if i get some rubbish back i'll kick off again! but hopefully not, i'll let you know what happens as to what kinda reply i get back from them! |

Subject : Cbeebies Cerri Sorry Claire but not sure you read my post properly! BBC c do not want to take her off air, it's just the moaning ninnys who think they can petition the bbc because they are trying to protect their 'sensitive' children! |

Subject : Cbeebies Cerri Hi, I can't see why people have been complaining. My lo is only 17 months old so he hasn't said anything but when he is older if/when he asks any questons about her I would explain - its a great oppourtunity to discuss disabilities with your child. If a presenter had their hair dyed bright pink or something he might ask why and I would explain etc etc I can not see why it would be an issue?? I can not see the difference in your child seeing someone with part of a limb missing on TV or in the street? Do people cover their kids eyes in the street?? |

Subject : Cbeebies Cerri My 4 year old noticed today, and asked me why the ladies arm had fallen off! I explained to him that some people are born without arm's leg's e.t.c, and everyone is different and that was the end of that! Kids just accept, it's the attitudes of those around them that will influence. He saw his friend from school ( who has downs syndrome) in the park, and shouted hello to him, and my oh said to him ''don't start shouting'' like he was scared lo was going to say something about the little boy!!! I had to explain to my naive oh, that to our lo that his friend was just his friend and nothing different and he wouldn't shout anyhting rude e,t,c( does that make sense?, don't want to mention any names). |
