hi
my first was breech. Discovered late at about 37 weeks. Tried ECV but failed. She was frank breech...her feet up against her head!!! After a scan to determin her weight (7lbs) and an xray to determin size of my pelvis (big) then it was decided I could have trail of labour in the HDU. I went into spontaneous labour at 39+3 days. labour was long and slow. i had epidural at admission as the little bottom slips into birth canal at about 6cm and gives you the sensation of wanting to push way to early. All went well really but at the end I was tired, baby was in distress and when they opened the birth pack there was no scalpel in the first 2 to perform the episiotomy. This all took a while and the room was filling up with docs, mw, peads etc.... They also brought in some student mw'w and docs as not many vaginal breech births happen these days (this was 18 years ago). Anyway after 3 failed forceps attempts they got her out on the 4th... she was a bit grey and floppy so they rushed her off. After a short while she came back to me well. In hindsight I would go for a section as things went a bit wrong at the end and it was not worth the risk...
I had 3 other normal deliveries but my last (my 5th) was a section.
beleive me it was the easiest. It was traumatic but for other reasons totally.
sorry..will write more later....baby needs me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol...sorry to leave you in suspense!!!!
my section was due to placeta previa so had no option. It should have been elective but ended up as emerg as i bled at home which is dangerous with previa!!!!
i felt no pain and my recovery was a bit slow bot on thw whole i recovered well. friends who had normal c sections were up and about the next day and well by 2 to 3 weeks
good luck and remember she has time to turn yet!!!!!

hi the baby im carrying at the moment was breech until about 32 weeks but then turned. if it is still breech at 36 weeks they try to turn it but if this doesn't work then they tend to recommend a section though its totally up to you, depending on the way the baby is lying. my advise would be to go on all fours as much as possible as this makes the head tip forwards so the baby turns the right way. also try not slouching when you're sat down, learn forwards slightly. apparently reflexology can help turn the baby but it needs to be with a practitioner who is qualified for doing it on pregnant women. your midwife should be able to give you some tipps for getting the baby to turn. dont worry too much, there's still time! x

hey!!
i was carrying a breech, midwife had said she was head down twice and i was devastated at 34 weeks that she had turned. unfortunately for me i spent 4 weeks on gym balls on my knees with my face flat on the floor, not sitting on a sofa much etc etc to no avail howver i would seriously recommend trying it all as the ecv i had tues was quite hard 2 deal with more emotionally than anything as im petrified she will move back!! however i would have another 1 coz despite the pain my fear of a c section is far worse!!! just read up as much as u can preperation is the key!! most babies turn so lets hope urs does! good luck xxx

Hiya
I only found out my little girl was breech 24 hours before my C-section. Midwife told me she was head down at 37+6 but i had protein in my wee so i was sent to hospital where i was examined by a midwife on the delivery ward who told me she was breech.
I was shocked!
I was offered ECV but midwife put me off saying there was usually a reason why babies dont turn and ECV dosnt usually have a good outcome. I think she meant sucess rate, never asked her to clarify although i wish i had.
So my only other option was elective section and they couldnt wait to see if she turned because of the pre-eclapsia.
I wish i had tried ECV but the outcome was good in the end, although she was only tiny so it might have worked, guess i will never know.
My little girl was born at 38 week exact and she was healthy and absolutley perfect. She did have to have a scan on her hips as most breech babies do, but she was ok.
Just worried about the effect its going to have on the way the birth of my little boy goes in May because of the previous section.
Hope all goes well x

I had a successful ECV with my first baby at 37 weeks. It was a bit uncomfortable but it saved me from having a c-section! Would definitely recommend it

i still dont think she has turned? althought i dont know really, i keep feeling a bit of movment very low down and it feels like she is on a nerve sometimes it makes me jump, but the majority of movment is right on the top of my bump and to both sides? feels like lumps rolling around lol sorry thats the only way i can think to descibe it, i can also hear her hearbeat just under and just over my belly button i have tried to feel and when i do feel what fels like a hard round head it jumps out at me!!
also found out that a anterior planceta means a posterior baby so another worry great!!!
