Won't eat
Hi, my 7 month old will not eat!!
He has gone from eating 3 meals and day, and bottles in-between to having more milk and no solids. He may nibble on some cheese or rice cakes with marmite, the other day he woolfed down a bit of smoked salmon with cheese, oh and he ate a strawberry this afternoon.
He clamps his mouth shut, when he sees the spoon coming, he wont even have banana at breakfast now.
He has been weened since about 13 weeks with baby rice and then progressed really well, even having meat and fish pie. :\(Any suggestions for a worried Mummy?

have you tried to see if he will try and feed him self with the spoon. or take him shopping and let him pick his own bowl and spoon to make it a bit more fun for him, like maybe a bowl with his fav character on it.

it may be that he wants a bit of independace, it's messy but give him something in a bowl, nice and thick to save on a bit of mess, and give him a spoon, I can normally get my LO to think he's feeding himself with the occasional directed spoonful from me
but as long as he's getting pleanty of milk he'll be ok i'm sure his appetite will pick up again

My lo isn't keen on anything pureed anymore so we have gone on to baby led weaning. I would recommend Gill Rapley's book. You can get it from Amazon. She is a bit preachy and patronising at times, but all the practical info is there.
BLW is basically just offering finger foods and letting lo chose what he wants

My baby is also doing the same at the mo and I am worried as he has always been such a good eater before but like you said just shuts his mouth. I have tried giving him a spoon to feed himself that works for 1 or 2 mouthfuls and he will faf around with finger food. Will keep lookin to see if anyone gives a solution!!! PS Ive tried lots of different stuff done the AK recipies etc with no joy
