god i know what that feels like having mega heartburn, ive been having it morning noon and night since about 10wks!!! i think i should have shares in gaviscon with the amount that i buy lol!! ive got 10wks to go but it still feels like a lifetime but im sure it will go really quickly. im almost prepared anyway. all ive gotta do is pack my hospital bag. have you got any top tips on what to pack, i havent got a clue. ill end up packing everything but the kitchen sink i expect lol!. take it easy xx

my name is Vicky i live in Plymouth, i moved back to Plymouth 6 weeks ago after living moving to Reading 3 yrs ago cos of my fiances job- its so good to be back. Im due to give birth on sunday and cannot wait. Ive been trying to take walks on Plymouth Hoe but since baby has moved further down into pelvis my back is killing me. There is another girl who has just had her baby called kim who lives in Plymouth but she hasnt been on for a while probably got her hands full with her new baby boy. Vicky xxx

yes hes looking after me, im so bored now tho cos its so close. went to the docs today and everything is fine but thinks im having a big baby so if he doesnt arrive on sunday ill have a sweep on tuesday hopefully to get things started. Hi vicky, yeah this is my first baby. do u know what ur having? i didnt find out. im 29+5wks and ive seen a few docs and mw's and they've all said my baby is big tho, altho i havent got a big bump yet! my chap was 9lb 11 when he was born so i hope our baby isnt that big! lol! yeah the weather is lovely but im defo feeling the heat, shoudnt knock it tho. take it easy, ella x

Hi hun i have not even packed my hospital bag yet and i only have 4 weeks might be because im having a home birth so i dont see the point really lol but i still have to do one just incase i go into early labour ir have to go into hospital for some reason why in labour or after the birth.
try not to worry about what to pack in your bag as long as you have got all the maen things you should be ok.
ie:
clothes for baby when born
clothes for you dueing and after labour
breast pads
san towels (some hospital provided them)
next time u go to see your midwife just ask about nappies and wipes ect
and clothes for you and baby to come home in
thats all i took when i had my first and second and was ok. its just like packing a holiday bacg but you need to pack a few things for baby to lol if you know what i mean anyways take care all xxxx

Hi Laura, sorry to hear your off sick, i went on mat leave at 33 weeks cos we were moving back form Reading and im so bored but only have 2 days left to go till baby hopefully arrives. Twin girls- you'll have your hands full but how exciting! How are you finding being pregnant?x

Hi Ella, were having a boy and think weve decided on the name Joshua. We always wanted to find out- im terrible, im the type of person who wants to open xmas presents before xmas day so there was no way i could wait 9 months! In my hosp bag ive got 2 towels, 2 night dresses, slippers, dressing gown, wash bag, maternity pads, breast pads and underwear. In baby's bag ive got a blanket, 2 vests, 2 all-in-ones, a hat and 3 nappies. Its difficult cos you dont know how long you'll be in for!x

Hi Sammy, i was thinking i would quite like a home birth but were staying in rented accomadation untill our place has finished being decorated etc so was paranoid about it all getting a bit messy! Let me know how it goes x

hey everyone, i live in plymouth too! im kim, im 18 and just had my first baby on 11th may. my little boy is called Blake Morgan and weighed 8lbs 14 and a half oz. i had a home birth and it was brilliant - not messy at all! my fiance and i are loving being parents.

HOT at the mo lol!! its been ok really ive found things more emotionally hard than anything. i had to leave work when i was about 19wks because the staff where bullying me and i got mega stressed! thats the worse thing really that has happened to me. im starting to get really excited now only 10wks to go...yeay! love ellaxx

yeh it was lovley weather yesterday, and its still hot today even though it isnt very sunny! god, thats awful about the work thing...luckily i am fortunate enough to not have to work as my fiance takes care of me lol, and now i have blake to look after so thats work in itself!! glad you havent had any other problems though. i remember starting to feel impatient at 30weeks cos i had everything bought and ready but no baby lol!! have you bought much yet? love kim x x x

hi kim, yeah ive got pretty much everything now i think. all ive gotta do is paint the babys room which im doing in a few weeks cos my chap is doing a training course in holland for 4 days and im gonna miss him like mad so i thought that would take my mind off things. its weird i feel like its not long til i hav the baby but its ages yet really but im sure the time will fly by!!!
i hoping not to go back to work after the baby is born, depends on money and stuff!! so we'll ah to wait and see.

Hi Ella, hows u? What you been upto? Sorry to hear you had to leave your job bcos of the staff. How you finding your pregnancy? How are you feelin now the birth is gettin closer? Im 30+6 now and have been having quite a few niggles and braxton hicks so my MW reckons I wont go past 35 weeks so I havnet got that much time left. Im pleased to have got this far along bcos my mate had her twin girls at 28 weeks and another mate had her twins at 31 weeks so I was half expecting mine to come early too. Im so looking forward to meeting the twins and cant wait to be a mummy but really scared about the birth too. i want to try for a natural birth with little pain relief as possible but will have to wait and see how things go xx

hi ella, glad you are pretty much sorted with all the stuff...nothing more stressful than worrying you havent got things! i painted blakes room myself too, but just cos matt gets bored with it and doesnt do it properly lol. god i would hate it if matt went away for even a weekend hehe, i would miss him soooo much so hope you have things to take your mind off it? time went really quickly for me thinking back but at the time it dragged by! i enjoy not working but thinking of doing a degree to keep my mind active. everything is great here, but i wish the weather would get better! love kim xxx

hi laura g1, thankyou v much! i love being a mummy, its the best feeling in the world and blake is a good contented baby so makes it extremely easy for me, im quite suprised at how easy i find it actually lol. my older sister has twin boys and she had them at 36 weeks, so hopefully you wont have much longer to wait - unlike me, i went 11days overdue but i did only have the 1!! xxxxx

Hello lovely Plymouth mums! Gorgeous Joshua arrived mon 21st at 855pm weighing a whopping 9lb 5oz! he had to go to intensive care cos he had a bowel movemnet inside of me and didnt take a big gasp when he came out but hes fine now. I had a 3rd degree tear and had to stay in hospital for 5 days but were both ok now. Labour was 18hrs but not difficult untill the end when he had to be delivered by vonteuse. Hes perfect, im suffering a bit with the baby blues cos of breast feeding...much more difficult than i thought but my fiance is amazing! Hope evryone is ok, love Vicky and Joshua xxx

Hi Kim it looks like i wont be painting the babys room now and steve isnt going away either.........

i had mw's yesterday and my bp was really high and i had protien in my sample so i went to the hos with supected pre-eclampsia!!!!!! anyway after a whole day at the hos all my tests came back fine and i was allowed to gone home as my bp had lowered but its still borderline! ive been told ive gotta rest as much as poss to make sure it doesnt go back up again and ive gotta go to the docs twice a week to keep on having it checked.
Anyway now im really worried its gonna get bad and im gonna have to go into hos or something like that but im trying to stay calm so we'll have to wait and see wot happens.

yeah i saw the thread bout the Tavy meet up on M&B dont think they've decided on a date yet tho. Yeah I deffo wanna go if I can but obviously that kinda dpends on wen the twins decide to put in an appearence. I think they r trying to arrange a Plymouth meet on netmums too so hopefully we'll get to meet plenty new Plymouth mummies soon. Cant believe how fast time has gone by. Not long now like u say. Ryan and I really cant wait. We're already now and got the nursery deocrated (its lush u gotta come round and see it) all we need now r a couple of babies lol! Sorry to hear you havent been too good and have been in hospital. Ive been having probs with my BP too. Luckily havnt had to stay in hospital overnight but i am being seen at the day clinic 3 times a week. Saw my MW yesterday and its been decided im going to be induced on 13th July when im 37 weeks -yay!

hi leanne and laura, im feeling ok just have really bad headache all the time which is cos my blood pressure is so high but i havent got any other symptoms of pre-eclampsia yet which is good but if i do develop them then they might have to induce me early. im seeing the mw everyother day so its just the waiting game at the mo.
so yeah im already, well as ready as i can be lol! im having another scan 2moro because they are worried the baby is abit small so ill let u know the results of that.

Scan went fine yesterday. The baby is the right size at the mo its about 5 1/2-6lb and they think by the time its born it should be about 8-8 1/2lb!!! which is brill.
Got another pic as well which im really pleased about and on the screen the baby's mouth was moving and everything, it was amazing.

I have to go for a growth scan next week as I'm measuring small actually I'm tiny but midwife isn't worried and said my baby will prob be born 6Ib and the scan it is just routine, yummymummy2b you have a lovely big bump what did they do at the scan I'm nervous.

Im suffering with high blood pressure at the mo and people who have high bp's tend to have smaller babies because the placenta doesnt work properly so thats why i had the scan. im 35wks but measuring at 33 so they just wanted to check cos i was admitted to hospital last week cos at one point my bp went really high. dont be neverous im sure ur baby is fine hun. when is it? let us know how u got on wont u? feel free to ask anymore questions hun, love ella xx

Thanks for your message Hope you are keeping relaxed for your blood pressure when you went into hospital did they put you in the maternity ward?. I've been measuring small through out, have really low blood pressure and anemia and had 3 months of severe morning sickness, and a very demanding job not sure if that is why?. My OH was only 6lb when born so maybe that is why also. I've just been to B&Q to by some paint for the nursery and the women on the till couldn't believe me when I said I was 33 weeks I just smile but I do get a bit upset I don't care if baby is small l just want it to be ok. It took me a while to conceive and if anything was to go wrong I really do not know what I would do. Scan is on Thursday. You don't have long to go will they make you have your baby early?

yeah i went on the maternity ward for 24hrs, it wasnt too bad actually they put all the mums-to-be at one end and all the new mums and babies at the other. i had a really demanding job as well and was being bullied by the staff so suffered with stress and left when i was 20wks so i think thats had something to do with my probs, perhaps thats why ur feeling low at the mo. im sure ur baby is fine but its nice to be reasurred by the scan and they are doing it quite early on so if there is any probs they can sort it out sooner rather than later.

at the mo by blood pressure is staying at around the 150/90 point and i havent got any protein or anything. they will only deliver early if the bottom number goes over 100 and i start having protein in my sample. im being checked my mw everyother day so im just taking it as it comes at the mo.

what colour are u going to paint the babys room.....we have done lemon and mint green with a winnie the pooh border.

do u know the sex of the baby? we didnt find out wanted it to be a surprise.

Ella - No need for a hospital tour for you then LOL! I have a tour on Thursday night, so next Thursday will be a real baby day for me what with scan in the morning, parent craft in the afternoon (real nappies and car seats is the session) and then hospital tour in the evening. Sorry you had to leave work early you shouldn't have been put in that position, I wish I'd taken some more time out rather than be a workhorse think it is finally hitting me that when it comes to it work it really doesn't matter and baby comes first! I'm going to take tomorrow off sick as I have a cold usually I'd struggle through but I just can't shift it. My OH is painting the room as I type an off white v. pale green colour as we don't know sex yet although I'm convinced its a girl. Had not thought of borders I had the muppets when I was little not just a border the whole room it was rather scary LOL. We've been watching the 24 box set this weekend really good although I wouldn't recommend it as it may take your bottom number over 100 it's edge of the sofa stuff! So are you having to wee in a pot every other day I always fill it right up apparently they only need a drop?

Laura - I'm due on Friday 17 August but have a feeling it will be late. You are so lucky to be having twins although worrying about 2 little ones inside me I would probably gone mad by now, can you feel how they are lying, I can make out my babies back and feet it's been head down for a while now. Are they identical? Boys or Girls? How many weeks will you be on 13 July?

Bristol, no we've decided not to do the hospital tour cos i think ive seen all the ward now lol. wow really are having a baby day on thursday!! sounds good tho. in a way im quite pleased i left work so early even tho it was stressful at the time. i worked with adults with learning disabitiles and they where quite violent so not sure now much longer i could have done it anyway. when are u going to start you maternity leave?
think ur right about 24 lol altho i have been watching rather alot of horro films at the mo so maybe thats whats doing it. my chap doesnt like my watching them cos im really jumpy and he thinks its gonna make my waters break lol.
yeah i have to do the whole weeing in the pot thing as well. when she came today its 144/88 so its not too bad for me anyway. hoping it will stay around that way no. dont mind it going up when i get to 37wks cos then the baby is full term.

GOOD LUCK HUN......ru finding it hard to move around. i am and ive only got one baby inside me lol! i feel like the baby moving down loads cos im getting really sharps pressure pains right at the bottom of my belly. its so uncomfortable!!!!

had some good news at the mw's last week, my blood pressure has gone down again to 135/78, i couldnt believe it i almost fell off my chair!!!!! after weeks of being high ive finally gone back to normal.

arghhhh well i could ****g scream this morning (soz for the lanauage!!!) but ive been having problems with my boiler and been having the electric and plumber in all week to sort it out. it was finally finished this morning and the stupid plumber (who i dont like anyway) didnt turn none of the switches on yesterday before he went so i have NO hot water this morning. it takes ages for the emersion to heat up and all i want today was a nice relaxing bath cos my back his killing me and i had and awful nights sleep.

to top it all off i bit steves head off this morning without meaning and burst into tears grrrrr bloody hormones.

so im gonna have a nice relaxing cup of tea and when go back to bed i think.

Hi girls, havent been on for ages cos being a mum really takes up your time!!! Well Joshua is 7 weeks old now and weighs a whopping 13lbs and is 61cm long...he is so gorgeous. Hes smiling lots and making the cutest baby noises, and he rolled over on saturday for the first time but hasnt done it since lol! Hope your all ok and looking forward to your little ones arriving. Joshua only wakes once in the night and last night he slept from 1030pm till 630am but its still tiring so get as much rest as possible. Take care lots of love Vicky and Joshua

Hi all just a quick update on laura. Just had a txt from her OH. The twins arent here yet :( Hvnt got much info at the mo but Laura has had a long, diffucult labour. She is tiring and one of the babies is showing signs of distress so they are taken her down to theatre for an emergency c -section. Will update u all again when I have more info.

I have just spoken to Laura's OH so here is just a quick update....

The twins are here - yipee!!! Mother and daughters are all doing ok.

Rebecca was born first @ 8:24pm weighing 5lb 1oz shortly followed by Elle (Yes they changed their mind on the names again at the last minute lol) @ 8:27pm weighing 5lb. The girls have to spend the night in special care but will be fine. Thats all the info I have for now but Im sure Laura wil back on here soon enough to tell u all about her beautiful girls.

IM A MUMMY! - woohoo!!!

OMG i now know why they call it labour, it was pure hell and I never want to go through it ever again.

Just thought id pop on quickly to say hiya and let you know that my beautiful girls are doing well. We are staring to get into a nice routine and not finding it too hard managing with 2 babies atm. Ryan and I are loving being parents - its the best thing in the world.

Anyway gotta go now but hope you are all well and will be back on again soon for a nice chat and to catch up with u all..

My nephew is the same age as Lucy and he is exactly the same he never stops chattering away. He gets so cross when you cant understand what he is saying tho.

What you upto today? Im bored. Ruby is sleeping the mo, ive cleaned the house from top to bottom and tv is crap so i got nothing to do.

She wrote that she checked on me every 20-25 minutes to check the monitor reading (i had to stay on the monitor through the labour bcos Lucy was early and her heartbeat was dipping with each contraction and not recovering as well as it should have been) when in fact i probably saw her no more than twice between 7:30am and when she went off at 2pm. I lost count of the number of time my ex and my mum had to go and try and find a MW to come and check the monitor readings and still nobody came. So overall the care I recieved was disapointing. I really hope it has improved in the last 2 years.

It was awful seeing him the first time when I took Lucy to the centre to see him. I'd seen him at court the week before and that was the first time I had seen him since the day the Police took him away and I was shaking with fear. Its not so bad now bcos I only drop Lucy off and then pick her up again at the end so im only with him for a couple minutes. Love ur pic of Joshua - he is so gorgeous. Who does he look like u or ur partner? Ruby is the image of me. Ruby is doing great thanks. I just dont know where the time has gone. The last 11 weeks have flown by. She is a brillaint sleeper. I put her down at 10:30pm and then she doesnt wake again until about 6:30am. How many oz is Joshua taking at each feed? Ruby is still only taking 4-5 oz and isnt put on much weight She is still in newborn clothes at the mo. xx

My new job is at the hospital doing admin and preparing notes for clinics for the outpatients, a&e and fracture clinic. I cant wait to start. Its going to be fresh start for me. After all the stuff I have been through in the last 3 years its just what I need. Im really excited about the challenge. I havn't handed in my notice at my currewnt job yet. Im waiting to get my start date on my new job before I hand it in.

Yeah the Ofsted report for Lucy's nursery was horrendous. I was sat reading it and couldnt believe some of the things that were in it. Im in two minds about what to do. On one hand I could enroll Lucy in Busy Bees nursery which is in the grounds of the hospital and that would much much more convenient especially as i live near the hospital too but on the other hand Lucy has been at Pixieland since she was 5 months and whilst yes they do have some pretty major faults Lucy is still happy, content, has lots of friends and seems to be developing well. So like I say im in 2 minds. im gonna have to sit down and weigh up the pros and cons and go from there

Lucy was funny earlier. I was getting her ready for bed and put her in her cot while I came downstairs to get her a drink. When I went back up she was laid down so I said can i have a kiss? and she said shhhhhhhhh mummy be quiet im sleeping. She likes me to give her teddy a kiss at bedtime too so I said ok ill just give teddy a kiss then and she jumped up and grabbed my arm and whispered "no mummy, be gentle she's sleeping too" LOL!!

Hi ya...this will shock you...Joshua is on 6oz for his feeds apart from his 6pm feed where we give him 7oz lol he weighs a whopping 14lb 1oz and steadily putting on about 7oz a week!!! He is a little piggy, he'd never last on 5oz i was worried we were giving him too much for his age but cos hes so big he needs it. Joshua is wearing 3-6months baby grows and 0-3months in shorts and t-shirts- hes not fat hes just so long- 62cm! I went into next on sat and bought so much cos it was so cheap. I think Joshua looks like my oh but maybe thats cos hes a boy! How about Ruby, who does she look like. Are you breastfeeding or bottles? x

I was put into a new dept where theline manager and his assistant have gone out of their way to put me down, try to force me out and kept setting me up to make me look incompetant or a liar. It got to a point where i couldnt eat, i couldnt sleep and when I was sleeping I was having nightmares and I couldn't look after Lucy properly. My mum and step dad had to take her on holiday for a week just to give me a break cos I was such a mess. Ive been off sick with stress now since the middle of April and cant face the thought of going back. So in a way im delighted to be leaving there because it was ruining my life at a time when I didnt need the extra stress as I already had alot going on out of work but im also a little sad to be leaving because ive been there so long and I really used to love it. But I think the time is now ight for me to move on forget the past on start my life over agaiin. Told u u'd regret asking lol!!

Aww that will be nice for you and ur hubby having your step son come to stay. What's his name? You got anything nice planned while he is staying with u?

I went into NEXT on saturday too and spent a fortune on clothes for Ruby. I love NEXT I always spend a fortune in there. Ruby is the imagine of me she has her dads nose but other than that she looks like me. Do u plan on going back to work anytime soon or are you going to stay home with Joshua? Im going back to work in January. I really hate the thought of leaving Ruby but I need the money I tried breastfeeding but found it too painful so gave up after a fortnight. How bout u breastfeeding or bottle?

Hey Leanne, i gave up breastfeeding after 3 weeks cos i was crying at every feed it was so pain! dont think my hv was to pleased but i was getting depressed with it- i did try expressing but it took ages by the time i got4/5oz and then fed him it was nearly 2hrs gone. I much prefer bottles cos i can go out whenever i want now. I will go back to work if i can. Cos we moved down from reading im not sure if they'll have a position for me. I worked as the manager for Warehouse the clothes shop so the area manager for the southwest said to give her a call novemebr time to see if they have anything so fingers crossed they will cos i loved my job. Now that Joshua is developing and changing so much it will be hard to leave him x

Leanne. Yeah soz I missed you last night on MSN I only popped quickly. Not sure if ill be on tonight as I really must do the ironing tonight I cant put it off any longer its climbing up the wall and Lucy is running out of clothes and you know when Lucy is running low on clothes its time to do ironing bcos she has the biggest wardrope any 2 year old has ever had lol!!!. I think I should have shares in Next with all the clothes I buy from there for me and Lucy.

Firstly an update on Ella. She is home from hospital but still no baby. She was 3cm dilated yday afternoon but nothing has happened since so they have discharged her.

Hi Leanne, How were Laura and the twins? Cant wait to see some pics. Not sure how early babies start teething. Lucy started having problems with her teeth from about 4 months but she didnt cut her first tooth until she was nearly 1. Hope she settles better for you tonight x

Thats good that Ella has been discharged shame there is no sign of the baby though. Fingers crossed for her it wont be too much longer.

Ruby is a very happy and content baby so that makes things easier. How u coping with the lack of sleep? is saul sleeping thru yet? Ruby is going from 10:30pm til 6:30am which im pleased about becos I love my sleep x

Hi Leanne, I'm so jealous, Saul still wakes for a feed at 2.30am!!! I am coping ok with the night feeds though, as he goes straight back to sleep... Ruby is a fantastic name, if Saul was a girl he was going to be called Scarlett, so a red colour theme going on there!!! Any idea when we're going to get a summer??? Jo's done a fab job of keeping you all updated...ill tell you all the full story now.

On monday i went in cos my bp over weekend high so they decided to admit me cos i was having flashing lights in front of my eyes. all my blood tests came back clear and i wasnt having any protien in my urine or anything like that so they said ive got pregnancy induced hypertension and then decided to give me blood pressure medication!

While in there i had los of CTG's done (baby monitoring) and basically i have a really lazy baby (gotta be a boy lol) who was sleeping ALOT and they wanting to keep on monitoring me to make sure babes was ok. one time i think i was on there for about 4hrs and during that time the baby was only awake for about an hour and the babys heartrate kept on dropping very very low but was coming back up again very quickly. Very scary stuff.......at that point i was told to call steve and get him to come in.

Thats when i had an internal done and sweep to try and start things off and i was about 2-3cms. during having that done the babys heart beat and fine and i had a scan done to check everthing and then went down to the delivery suite to see the docs down there. after they had a listen and stuff they said they think it was the baby playing with its cord (cheeky monkey!) but i still had to be on the monitor constantly to check it didnt happen again. but it didnt do thats ok and we where both ok!!!

After having my sweep things did start slighty and i did feel different but it wasnt enough and it all stopped again so yesterday i was allowed to come home.

My blood pressure is still high even tho im on meds. im having the mw out twice a day to see me and ive gotta go to the day assessment ward again on monday to be checked out.

they wont induce me unless i start to have protein in my urine but i think im ok with that now im being monitored properly even tho im at home.

I still wont be on here much cos im on strict bed rest even got my mother in law coming down later to do me some dinner and u all know how much i cant stand her lol but ive gotta do whats best for me and the baby now!!!!

Thankyou again for all the messages and i will pop back on every now and again to give you a update.
Im hoping now im home its all gonna start off.....im still getting very strong brackon hicks so keep ur fingers crossed for me wont u

Rebecca and Ellie are doing well. They are 2 weeks old today - Where have th elast weeks gone? They are slowly putting on weight. Rebecca is now 5lb 8oz and Ellie 5lb 9oz. Ellie is a little piggy and take 3-4oz every feed where as Rebecca will soemtimes only 2-3 oz. Im loving being a mum but defo dont want anymore.

Hey Laura, Glad to read that u and your gorgeous girls are doing so well. Lucy and I are great thanks. As u have already read earlier in the thread ive been going thru some pretty crap stuff lately with work and the ongoing court case with Lucys dad (grrrrr just wish it would all be over and he would disapear of the planet) but im getting there and hopefully things are starting to look up for me now.

Hope to catch up with soon. Do u fancy meetin up one day next week? If ur anything like I was when Lucy was newborn I wasnt organsied enough to get out of the house b4 11am so we can meet in the atfernoon one day if thats easier for u. let me know x

Just popped on while my oh and step son (ooh that seems wierd typing that) are still asleep. Ryan ( my step son) was sooo excited lst night when we picked him up, didn't stop talking for most of the 2 hour drive home, then fell fast asleep within 15mins of home. For all those having sleeping dificulties - it does get much better, the problem then comes when you have to wake them up in the mornings, he's defo taken after his dad - always grumpy in the morning ;-)

Sara, welcome to the board! I'm a Plymouth wannabe mummy, we've just started TTC and my oh has a 5 year old from his previous marriage (to a witch lol) Good luck with the weight loss, I lost 5 stone for my weding earlier this year so it can be done but I sympathise, it was v v hard work.

Jo, sounds like you are best out of that job. I know it can be hard moving on but sometimes it's for the best. I'm having similar problems in work at the mo, where this week they told me I have a serious attitude problem and noone wants to deal with me. Nice! Uncalled for, it really upset me cos I'm v placid normally, but unfortunately a typical redhead! So I'm sending big hugs your way and a big "sod em all, lets look after number one".

Laura, I have so much respect for you coping with twins. Is your oh giving you lots of help?

i soooo want my baby to arrive now! im feeling like crap all the time even tho im on blood pressure med's its still very high, last night it was 156/96! they wont induce me until i start to get protein in my sample! grrrrr!!!

never mind think the baby is trying to make its apperance im getting stronger brakon hickes everyday so hopefully they will turn into proper contractions soon.

Hi Laura, Hows u 2day? oooooo the wedding dress u described sounds lush. Who is it designed by? It sounds just like the dress I have in mind for when I get married one day (just gotta find a bloke first and after the last idiot im bieng very picky and selective so that could take some time lol). Apparently I announced to my mum when I was 5 years old that when I was grew up I was going to marry a prince in a pink princess gown lol. If u need a hand organsing the wedding im happy to help out. My mum and I are in the very early stages of putting together a business plan for own events and wedding planning business. Its something we've both wanted to do for a long time so have decided to go for it. Hopefully it should all be up and running within 2 years.

Well finally after weeks of what has seemed 1 step forward and then steps back with Amy Lou seem to gettin somewhere. She now weighs 4lb 1oz, is free of all infections and is breathing by herself-yay! initially we were told not ot expect to have her home befroe her due date (2 sept) but they are now saying if she continues to improve and put on weight she could be home within 3-4 weeks. I dont want to get ny hopes up just yet incase something goes wrong but we cant wait to have her home witrh us plus its killing me trying to split my time beetween the twins and visitng Amy Lou in hospital everyday. So keep your fingers crossed every1 that she will be home soon x

Hi everyone... At last summer is here!!!! I took Saul to Sparkwell on Saturday, not that he could see anything, sleeping in his pram!!! If any of you are thinking of going, beware of the unfriendly gravel... It made it nearly impossible to move the pram, we kept getting stuck!!! I'm taking my monster to the health visitor today to be weighed and measured, i'm hoping he doesn't break the scales!!! He's 14 weeks old and a fortnight ago he was 16lb 5oz!!! He is still suffering with constipation, so I have made the decision to start weaning, his favourite is banana, followed closely by carrot!!! Fruit and Veg should surely get his little bowel moving... I hope you mums and mums to be had a lovely weekend and here's to a week of glorious weather... Sara

Hey Gem, Hope u and the girls are all ok. Give Amy Lou a big ((hug)) from me when u go the hospital later. Yeah my night out wasnt bad. Had to end it early tho cos my mate's fiance had an accident so we had to go back to my mates flat to make sure he was ok, so I was home and in bed by 1am. One of my cousins (sofia) is fine no probs at all but Shannon has cerebral palsy. ATM she cant sit or walk or anything physical like that but mentally she is on a par with Sofia. All her pro9bs are physical but should get better over the next few years. Its fnny really tho bcos Sofia was the smaller of the 2 @ birth by quite a few ounces yet Shannon has always been the one with the health worries. Have the docs said whether they think Amy Lou will have any probs with her being so early? xx

Needless yto say he got home pretty quick and didnt venture outside the door again until the monitor was off hehehe PMSL.

i think my contractions may have started!!! well i hope so anyway! since about 3pm ive been getting regular pains and they are steadly getting stonger. knowing my luck they will all go away again but u never know.

Another sweep that sounds painful. Not looking forward to people poking around inside me. I'm on maternity leave now! Had growth scan and all is well although I'm still 3cm smaller another midwife appointment today and only 17 days to go. So your now in the August gang too! What happens if you go for a long walk and it all kicks off fast while your out...yes I am a worrier.

hey bristol. my measurements are small as well. my bump measures 35 and it should be 40 today!!! but size of the baby is fine.

my mums gonna come put walking with me and dont think we gonna go far from the car and too be honest i just want it all to start off so done really care where i am lol

Just dropping by from a sunny corner in Kent LOL Can't believe my week off is nearly over and I have to go back to work on monday. It's been fun being a part-time mummy again but I can't wait to do it for real.
Ella, any news for us yet? Won't be long before you'll have your hands full with your little bundle of joy.
I'm feeling a bit wierd today. We saw my SIL's LO for the first time a few months yesterday, he's now 8 months old. Is it normal that I didn't feel broody at all at that point, and just felt jealous when my OH was playing really naturally with him. I just sat there and watched feeling really useless and helpless. Argh female hormones!

Yes im sure its normal not to feel broody at this stage. i didnt feel broody at all right the way thru my pregnancy. I dont recall one occasion wen I saw another baby and thought to myself "oooh I want my baby now"

U had a good weekend? Mine has been gr8. Went to argyle yday, while lucy was at the contact centre with her dad, which was good. woohoo only 1 week til the start of the season. I cant wait my mum has said she is happy to have lucys on saturdays so i can start going to 2 a few away games again -yay! went to a bbq last night and today we have been to morwellyn quay(sp?) which was rubbish so then went to tavistock park (oi gemma aka twinmummy+1 how rude ignoring me and amy lol u were just gettin into ur car outside the swimming pool when we called u but u obv didnt see/hear us so ill let u off this time) and had a picnic and stopped of @ yelverton prk on the way home so lucy could play some more and she loved it. She was knackered when we got home but is now sat up in cot still yapping away grrrrrrrrrr. I cant believe how blinking hot it is -im sooooooooooooo hot!

It was lovely to see u and the girls the other day have to do it again soon. r u coming along to the meet on the 24th? Ive been a busy bee recruiting ppl so there is gonna b quite a few of us. think we r around the 20-25 mark atm.

Just text Ella. She has been admitted to hospital. She is now 40+5 she had a bleed this mornin so went to the hospital and they are keeping her in for obs. She has had another sweep and is now having contractions every 10 minutes or so. The docs have said they may ease off or this may be real thing. Its just a waiting game now so keep ur fingers crossed that this is it and ella will be a mummy very soon.

Thanks for your reply I'm pleased Ella is ok, I'm getting worried now about the birth as baby is back to back and worried baby is going to get into difficulty getting out and thats why I'm late. I'm now a day over getting strong uncomfortable braxton hicks just want the labour to start as I think oh this might be it each time I get a BH. I wish I knew what was going on in there, it's my first so I don't know what to expect. The plan is to stay at home as long as possible. I have a stretch and sweep booked for Tuesday.

Thankyou for all ur messages.......i know jo would keep u informed.

we had such a tough time lol! i had to be induced in the end cos my blood pressure went sky high and even tho i had a drip etc i spent the whole day at 3cms dilated and sophies heartrate was dropping like mad so i had to go for a section. Sophie had the cord around her neck 4 times, little monkey!!!
All was fine tho and she is gorgeous

shes been doing brilliantly since shes been home and im loving being a mummy.

Ive got Sophie a couple lil outfits which Jo is gonna give 2 u wen she see's u nxt. Im not too bad thnx. Had abit of a blip the other week around Cerys's due date was feelin feelin down and a bit sorry for myself but as always Jo and gemma were there 2 pic me up and make me feel better. things and really good with me and Ryan atm. We r stronger than ever. We r off to paris for a long weekend in september as a late wedding anniversary treat as obviously Cerys was born the day after our anniversary so we didnt do anyhting to celebrate. Im really lookin 4ward to ging away with Jo but im gonna miss ryan and think im gonna find it hard not being able to visit Cerys resting place for a week but im lookin 4ward to seein gemma. She's only been gone a week and im missing her already lol Im going to court with Jo next week and then we r goin away next sunday until the friday.

Hope u hve a nice bday and get lots of nice new clothes. I bet its nice to not have to live in maternity vlothres anymore? U lost all ur baby weight?

cool cant wait to meet u hun. im sure things will go fine at the specialist hun. i have a friend who miscarried 5 times over about 6 years i think and her periods stopped for ages, she had it pretty tough as well. anyway on the day cerys passed away i had a call from her and she pregnant again and she due in 3 months. had no compications at all this time. im sure it will happen for you and ryan hun, im certain of it.

we didnt make it to cribs causeway in the end.....it was so hot and i was worried about going all that way with sophie in the car getting too hot so i went to matalan instead and managed to get some jeans and a few tops but im on the hunt for more!!! planning to get a whole new wardrobe altho steve doesnt know that yet lol!

yeah my brother managed to come down when sophie was about 9days old i think. he was well taken back with her. its the first time he is an uncle and he was beside himself when he got here, bless him. the rest of my visitors have been lovely bless them but they have been abit too much escpecially steves mum (long story ill tell u another day lol!)

Although we werent allowed to hold her bcos she was so fragile we were able to spend time alone with her and he was totally blown away by her. Im so xcited bout bcomin an aunty in dec wen Logan and rachel have their baby. Do u remember i was tellin u on msn a while back that she(rachel) was so moody and hormonal when i staying with them well thankfully she has chilled out abit now and logan reckons he only gets moaned at every other day now rather than every other hour lol

Im sunburnt all over but especially on my legs, back and chest. Amy and I took Lucy to Teignmouth beach yday and we both got burn real bad. Lucy had afab time and we couldtn get her out of the sea...she loved the water x

She is growing away far too fast and is a proper lil girl now altho she is determined to stay a baby as long as she can lol She cries her eyes out when i tell her she is a big girl now bless her. She is talking loooooooooooads now and comes out with new things everyday. Currently her fave phrases are "c'mon mummy!!", "whats that mummy?" and when im tryin to dress her in the morning the usual response now is "I dont like that mummy" lol x

Cant believe my girls are 9 weeks old already. that has gone so fast. they are both puttign on weight really well and sleeping really well too. My day has been great thanx. I met up with another mum kate, who I met thru netmums for the first time. She was lovely and Lucy and Kate's lo Molly got on like a house on fire. We r defo goin 2 get 2getha again soon. I was abit wary about meetin any mums off netmums again after mine, tasha and vicki's experience with the "delightful" Donna but i,m glad I did. She was the nicest mum ive met off netmums by miles.

The house hunting is a rigth pain. Cant find anywhere nice and affordable atm but ill tell u all about that next week when i see u.

Im in regular contact with a few of the mums from the last meet but not really had a chance to meet up with them again yet. Hoping to sort somethin with one of the mum's Sophie when she comes back off her hols cos she was really lovely and Lucy loved her lil boy Jacob.

Awww glad u had a nice day. I was abit put off with meeting mums off there too after what u and a few others had told me about Donna (seems like she has caused quite a stir amongst u regular netmums) but I decided 2 go and meet up with a mum the other week and it was ok. Didnt really get along with her that well and found her abit rude (she sat there texting her chap most of the time and just generally playing with her fone) so havnt contacte dher since but im emailing quite a few others and I am checking the meet-a-mum board reguarly to see if any news ones join up.

I think I know who u mean. If it is who I think I met her too and she was the same with me. Does she have a lo called Ella? I actually quite liked her even tho we didnt have a great deal in common and even tho it annoyed me abit that she kept texting her chap everytime I tried to talk to her I would prob have met up with her again if she asked. Its a shame really cos Lucy and her lo got along great and were walking thru town holdin hands and yapping away to eachother like they were the best of friends.

Not got a great deal on for the weekend. Gotta take Lucy 2 see her dad at the centre saturday lunchtime and then once ive collected her we r goin 2 meet up with my best mate so we can catch up and she can have some time with Lucy (she is givin me serious ear ache that she dont get to spend any time with Lucy these days which makes me laugh cos normally she hates kids..she hasnt a maternal bone in her body never has in the 20yrs I have known her lol)). Hows u today chick? I had a crap nite's sleep so im soooooo tired. Lucy is in nursery til 6 so I may pop back to bed in a while for a nap. I so know what u mean about blinking and missing everything. I dont know where the last 2 years have gone. I was sorting thru some of Lucys old clothes yday to give ella for Sophie and I was looking at the tiny/early baby clothes upto 3lb and omg it only feels like yday Lucy was actually wearing them.

Yep the poem brought a tear to my eye too. I was very moving. I went to see Amy on Saturday but she didnt wanna c any1. Spoke to Ryan tho and he said she is in pieces.

Lucy got a great with her dad. I think he has been abducted by aliens and replaced by a nicer version either that or he has had a persoanlity transplant cos he's a totally different bloke, still a total scumbag as far im concerned but all the same he seems nicer.

Ive been using this site since July this year but only tend to post on this Plymouth thread. I have been using parenting sites since I was pregnant with Lucy tho so since about October 2004. I dont find this site as good as the others I use but there are a few of us Plymouth mummies on here so its nice to pop on now and then and catch up with everyone.

Lucy is doing great but growing up far too quickly...she is 2 going on 12! She is a proper lil chatterbox and some of the things she comes out with really make me laugh. I was very lucky with Lucy I never had any probles with her settling in her moses basket and she has always been a brilliant sleeper but im trying to make the move from cot to a bed atm with lilttle sucess. i think mayb im trying to do too much at once tho cos im trying to potty train too!

Hi all other Plymouth mummies and Plymouth babies hope you are all well, im not impressed with this weather! i got my chunky monkey (joshua) weighed today and he is now 18lbs 1 1/2 oz lol i cannot believe it. I also just had the worst nappy to deal with! he has pooed all over his bouncing chair, all in his romper suit and all up his legs! I had to bring down a towel to carry him up stairs in and ive just goven him a bath and now the bouncing seat cover is in for the wash- luckily i was laughing rather than crying about it x

I work as an administrator/receptionist normally but have been off work since April with work related stress due to bullying. I went for an interview at Derriford Hospital for an admin job in the outpatients dept and was told the job was mine but there have been delays tryin to get references from my current employers which is holding things up. My 26 weeks of full pay runs out in less than 3 weeks so unless all the loose ends r tied up by then im gonna have to go back to my old job on a temp basis til I can start my new one. I really donr wanna have to go back but I cant afford to drop down to half pay.

No I dont have a partner. Ive been a single parent since last January when I seperated from Lucys dad due to domestic violence. Im at a stage now where I would like to meet somebody but I am very anxious about gettin into a new relationship after what ive been thru and also how Lucy will react to havin a man around again after all this time.

How sur day been? I dont really wana send Luy out 2moro 2 c her dad but its not worth the hassle and fuss he'll create if I cancel. He wont understand or care that I am doin it for Lucys sake. We fell out last week so it will b fun 2moro wen i see him. What have u and Ryan fallen out ova? Hope it gets sorted and he cheers up soon. I wanna try and get to the gym 3-4 times a week if I can but that'll depemnd on whetehr I can get somebody to look after Lucy. I'll prob go on thurs/fri/sats when Argyle r away and sun. Im not happy. My day has been ok thnx. Hvnt really done much tbh. Just housework, met up with a friend for lunch and went for a nice long walk. How nice has the weather been today? I went shopping wen I was in town with my mate and bought some lush new clothes from Jane Norman. i'll show u wen u come round mine next week. I dont know what possesed me to go in Drake Circus today tho...it was like hell on earth with it being the first anniversary since it opened omfg where has a year gone? lol Hope it isnt so busy when we r in there tomorrow.

Ryan is still being a miserable git. We didnt fall out ova anything i particular we're just both tired and snappy atm. Hows ur love life goin? Hows things with the new chap?

The weather has been lovely today hasnt it? I walked down to asda and back and was sooooooo hot time I got home. I bought a few new things for myself today too. I got a gorgeous fitted 3 quarter length demin style coat and I love it. The best bit tho was that I tried on a size 12 and it was huge so had to get it in a 10 woohoo!!! My waist looks tiny in it -yay!! Bought Lucy a gorgeous pair of suede boots from NEXT yday. They r so nice.

I have been saying for ages I wanted to join a rosemary conley class but there are none near where Iive. I got all her dvd's tho and work out to them virtually every day x

Im fine thnx just tired. Rubes is teething so havin a few sleepless nites atm grrrrrrr. I lost 2lb his week so im well pleased. Been workign out to my RC GI Jeans dvd every night. I almost had a heart attack the first I did it im so unfit its shocking lol

Awwww poor Rubes. Hope she has a better nite tonight and u both get some sleep. woohoo!! well done on ur weight loss-thats fab!! I love my RC workouts. Ive been alternating recently tho. I do her GI jeans one mon, day 1&2 of the 7 day workout dvd on tues, 25 minutes on my air walker on weds, 20 mins on mini stepper plus toning work on thurs and then RC workout again on fri. I dont do anything other than run around like a looney after Lucy on the weekends. I walk loads too which helps but god im still nowhere near as fit as I was 2-3 years ago. My doc reckons for my height I should be 7st 9lb...yeah whateva! I aint beent hat small since like ...well god knows lol Im aiming to get to about 8.5st. Whats ur target weight?

Yeah Ella is doing really well. Sophie is doing fab aswell and is such a lil sweetie. She had her first lots of jabs last week which made ella cry more than sophie lol and she was weighed and is now 12lb 5oz but is still teeny and in newborn clothes. Ella and Sophie r coming out 2 my place to spend the day with me and Lucy on thurs which should be good. Hvnt seen her for a couple weeks.

Ive been bored bored bored today aswell. Not really done much. Just done some housework and a bit of shopping. Spent lots of time on msn, M&B and facebook today. Lucy is in nursery tomoro afternoon so im meetin up with amy and goin clothes shopping yay, thurs ella and sophie coming around, fri meetin up with a mum from netmums, sat Lucy is seeing sean so im hoping to meet up with an old school friend if she is free and sunday chill and relax. How about u what u got planned for the rest of the week? u seein Laura?

We are still in the early stages of planning a big meet. We cant decide whether to do another M&B meet or have a mummys nite out. We had a mummys only get together @ the jack rabbit back in july and had a fab time so may do that again b4 doin a big meet with the kids too.

Hiya Jo, Rubes had a much better night thankfully so im not quite so knackered today. Ive been thinking about investing an some exercise euiptment but dont know what yet. I am enjoying life as a mummy but its really hard work too cos im a single mum. Jo very kindly told me that life as a single parent just gets harder as they get older lol thanks for that Jo just what I wanted to hear lol How is Ruby? is she sleeping thru the nite yet? Ive managed to get Lucie into a good routine and she goes down at 11 and wakes again at 6 which im quite pleased with. What days are best for u to meet? PROUD MUMMY ALERT!!!!!!

Ella and I came across this fab potty training book in Mothercare recently with a magnetic rewards chart. I decided to buy it the other week and have been sitting Lucy on her potty first thing in the morning and last thing at night for the last 2 weeks. She has been happy to look at the book and let me explain what the potty is for etc but has shown no interest in doin anything and after a few minutes has asked for her nappy back. Well tonight totally unexpected she did a poo on the potty (sorry tmi but im sure u will all by the same wen ur lo does their first poo on the potty lol). I made a real fuss of her and her little face lit up when we put her 2 reward magnetics on her chart. She was so proud of herself and I was one very proud mummy. The only sad bit is that I realised my little baby is no longer my baby is a little girl now
:( The funny thing was I bumped into Lucys HV while I was out today and we got chattin cos she likes to keep in contact with me cos of my PND and also cos she counselled me through the abuse with Lucys dad etc anyway I said to her I was tryin to potty training and she was like "no she's too young (she was 2 in May) get the potty and reward stickers etc but no need to push it yet for a few more months" so its typical Lucy used it tonight lol

Awww it only feels like yday i was feeding Lucy baby rice for the first time. Our lo's r all growing up too fast :( Congrats on losing another 2lb and gettin slimmer fo the week - ur doin fab! Well done keep up the good work. Ive lost 6lb in total now but my motivation is starting to go again so not sure how much longer im gonna keep it up :( I know what u mean by not wanting to get up in the mornin. I gotta be up by 6 on a mon and tues mornin 2 get myself and Lucy ready to take Lucy to nursery and it was sooooooooo cold this morning i just wanted to stay there.

my motivation is going too...i went into town today with my mum and had a hot chocolate and a piece of choc cake but i did walk in and walk back again so at least i did some exercise! Got to get back on it...WE CAN DO IT!!! Imagine all those gorgeous clothes in the mall waiting to be tried on he he he he x

I was doin great with my diet and have lost 8lb so far but the last 2 mornings have been soooooooooooooooo cold I havent been able to drag myself outta bed early enough to work out so my motivation is starting to fade. Seems as tho there isnt a diet board on here like on most other sites and i cant afford to join a class im gonna put my weightloss on here cos I know that the thought of havin 2 share my weight with every1 each week will keep me motviated - hope u do mind.

Evening lovely ladies, how r u and ur gorgeous lo's? Hope u have all had a gr8 day. Lucy and I have had a busy fan-packed day. We went out and about visiting friends and family this morning and then this afternoon we have made biscuits and then Lucy decorated them. Then we painted pasta shapes and made pasta necklaces and bracelets....great fun and really girly! The potty training is going really well. Lucy is sooooooooo clever. She has used the potty 4 times in the last two days now plus 2 times last week so she is doin well comsidering she isnt quite 2 and half yet. The diet is back on track and motivation restored. Went out a bought the new issue of Rosemary Conley's mag today. I have every issue since Sept 2004 and the inspirational stories in every issue never fail to get me motivated again so Id deffo recommend u all go out and bag urself a copy if ur starting to struggle.

Great idea about keeping track of ur weught loss on here Laura. Its a shame they dont have a diet & fitness board on here. I was keepin a similiar record on Mother and Baby but seems as tho M&B is no more :( and the new site that has replaced it is total cack i'll join in with u girls on here. So here goes.....

How u all doin 2day? Hope u all had a nice weekend? Mine was so boring and to make it worse my mum and step dad went away for the weekend so I couldnt go to the Argyle match cos I had nobdy to look after Lucy grrrrrrr so not impressed..... I mean how dare they have a life so I cant go 2 the footie lol

Right the diet well its been ok this week but not as good as last week. I felt so tired and run down that i didnt work out much but didnt eat any crappy food so here goes...

Anyway my names Jo, im 23 and I have a daughter Lucy who is 2 and a half. Im a single aprent which is soooooooooo hard sometimes. Lucy is a lil superstar tho and some of the things she comes out with r priceless....she is sooo funny!
She made me giggle today. I went to collect her from nursery and I had a different colour eyeshadow on to normal. She took one look at me and said oh dear mummys eyes r dirty and started to wipe my eyes wiv her sleeve LMFAO bless her. The nursery staff were in stitches it was so cute and funny. I imagine Dylan is abit like that too always coming out wiv funny things?

hehehe @ Dylan. Toddlers certainly know how to show us up dont they? lol and y do they always do it when there are lotsa ppl around? The most embarrasing moment ive had with Lucy so far was when I was on the bus a couple months ago. We were happily chattin and singing away as we always do on the bus journey into town when suddenly she lifted up her top and shouted "mummy I have boobies" lol as if that wasnt bad enough she then grabbed my top and shouted and u've got bobbies too. For the next 5 minutes she kept saying "lucy got boobies, mummy got boobies, lucy got boobies" etc....very funny but sooooooooo embarrasing lol

Being a single mummy is defo hard work and something I never thought about b4 becomin a parent. I defo have alot of respect now for every single mum cos it can be hard at times not having anyone to share the load with. The hardest bit for me has been when ive been ill myself and I still have to carry on and look after Lucy regardless. No Lucys dad doesnt help out. He physically and emotionally abused/blackmailed me throughout our relationship and on the day we seperated he hurt Lucy so he is now only allowed minimal contact at a supervised family contact centre every saturday for 2 hours. Thats the only contact he is allowed with Lucy as he isnt allowed near our house x

Hi Jo, hows u hun? Hope ur ok after last nite. I would have been seriously annoyed if that were me. She has deleted/blocked me from msn so she obvious has something to hide and tbh I think the way she reacted accusing u of spying on her is a sign of a guilty concience. I know she is one of ur eldest friends and stuff but with the ebay thing and the other thing tbh she has shown that she is clearly decietful and sly and cant be trusted so u got 2 wonder if u really want a friend like that? Cos I know I wouldnt no matter how long I had known them. Dont let it get to u cos thats what she wants.

Yes I watched Trinny and Susannah the other nite. I gotta be honest I find them both as annoying as eachother but I did like the programme. I was amazed that 90% of women dont wear the correct sized bra. I was like OMMMMMMMMMG!!! I get measured reguarly and cant imagine not knowin what size I am. It really shocked me. I much preffered T&S when they were doin what not to wear tho. I just cant get into them on itv. Trinny did look so silly with her DD cup and omg how bad is the sun damage to her skin???

Hiya Jo, hope ur ok hun. I agree with Laura dont let what happened last nite get to u. It dont matter how long u've known her or how gutted u r that u have fallen out, ella has clearly shown that u cant trust her one lil bit and like Laura said her reaction was bcos she knew she was in the wrong and she had been really sly goin behind ur back. IMHO for what its worth ur better than that and u dont need friends like that. If it was just this one situation mayb u could turn a blind eye but she shown time and time again in the last few months she isnt trustworthy. Anyway on to nicer things. hows ur day been? Im afraid the 1 or 2 (ok maybe more like 11 or 12 drinks) I had the other night proved costly. How was u feelin the next morning leanne and Tash? My head hurt :(

Hey girls hope u are all keepin well. Im feelin all crappy and under the weather so the diet has goen to pieces so far this week cos I cant be bothered to cook so just munchin on crap and Lucy has turned into the devil child the last few days and seems to think she can do as she wants. The bus comin home from nursery 2day was heaving so I had to fold her buggy up and let her "sit" on the seat next to me and omg she was a lil sod. God knows what the people around me were thinking lol

Yes he's got him all weekend- I told him it will be a good opportunity for him to see and understand what my week is like but i think his mum is coming down so bang goes that idea!!! Im really looking forward to a break away, i hope that doesnt make me sound like a bad mum b ut it will be sooooooooooooooooooo nice to go shopping without worrying about a buggy/fitting rm size/feeding time/nappy changing etc etc Joshua is rolling all over the place and loves to sit up and sung to all the time...Ian is going to be knackered lol xxx

still 10st 10lbs which if i take into consideration the rubbish i ate on my weekened away is actually quite good. had a fab time shopping and Hairspray was amazing- if it comes down to Plymouth i really recommend you all see it!!! Hope you all ok and the los xxx

I sent Lucy to nursery dressed like a lil eskimo this morning lol She had her vest, long sleeve tshirt, fleece, big thick raincoat and hat, scarf and mittens...there is no way she was gonna be cold! lol. HAPPY NEW YEAR! How r u and ur lo's doin? Hope u all had a fab xmas. Sorry I havnt been around for ages but Ellie was in hospital for a few days with a bad chest infection in December but is much better now. I cant believe it is 2008 already...only feels like 5mins since xmas 2006! Also cant believe the twins are 6mnths old already-where has the time gone? I had them weighed just before xmas. Ellie is now 15lb 8oz and Rebecca 15lb 11oz so they are both doin well. Im starting to wean them next week argggggghhhhhhh Im stressed about it - this weaning business is confusing stuff!

I wasnt too bad with my diet over xmas and tbh the booze was the biggest sin rather than food. I weighed myself yday and im back up to 9st 11oz but so far so good with the diet so im gonna start my weekly weigh in again from next monday. Ive purchased my new exercise dvd (The WAGS workout). I did pop it on last night with good intentions of actually tryin the workout but got encrosed in the extras i.e. the tips on make up, hair and clothes etc and by the time that ended my motivation had gone but im deffo gonna have a go @ it tomorrow.

Anyways thats all for me. Hope u r all good and look 4ward to catching up with u all soon

Hows u my sweetie? sorry I hvnt called or txt for a couple weeks been mega busy. Huge congrats on the pregnancy but omg more twins argggghhhhhhh dont think I could cope with that. Im 9+5 and atm til my scan in a few weeks workin on a EDD of 3rd August which is verrrrrrrrrrrry freaky as that was Rebecca and Ellies original due date too. Wow didn't realise so many women from plymouth use this site. I also live in plymouth, been here all my life. Ive just had a beautiful daughter who is now 13weeks old, with my husband chris. She's my first baby, and im loving being a mummy so much. You guys who are still pregnant have got so much to look forward to, it's the best experience ever. And no matter how bad your labours are, looking at your baby for the first time makes it completely worth it.

Im Rachel. I gave birth to my first baby, a lil girl Holly Grace just over 2 weeks ago on xmas eve. I live with my fiance Logan and would like to chat and meet up with other mums and lo's. I already know Jo through my sister in law but would love to meet other mums aswell to meet up with to take take my mind of the stress of my imminent wedding.

Hiya, my lo's called Bethany. We live in plympton, but will be moving soon as we've very quickly out-grown our house and suddenly can't move an inch without bumping into something. How did joshua's first day at nursery go? Did you stay with him for a while, or were you brave enough to leave him?
Has anyone gone back to work yet? I keep thinking about work, and just wish i could afford to stay home full-time. I loving spending every minute with my little girl, and making the most of it because im starting to realise how quickly they grow up. Thinl im going to try going back to work 3days a week. What's everyone else doing?

Hi girls,

Joshua went to nursery for 2 days this week and he seemed to really love it. I, on the other hand was sat at home twiddling my thumbs missing him loads. I was supposed to start back at work this week but cos we re-located from Reading they dont have the same job for me in plymouth only weekend vacanies and i dont want to work weekends cos then ill never see Ian and Joshua together. So, im now on extended mat leave till marhc 30th and hoping soemone leaves so i can have their job. We decided to keep Joshua's start date cos its a really lovely nursery with a very long waiting list, Margaret McMillan on the Hoe, so i feel really bad taking him to nursery and me going home. The only bonus is im studying for a degree with the open university so it gives me some free time to study rather than doing it at night.

Hope the mummies to be are feeling ok and not suffering from morning sickness!

Hi Jojokerman! Know what you mean about bumping into things. we went from a 2 bed flat in reading to a 3 bed four storey town house in plymouth and we still dont have any room!

I think that as soon as you have kids, the idea of space just goes right out the window. I'm glad joshua's doing okay in nursery. I work in a nursery, so i see new parents coming all the time, and the children settle in so much faster than the parents, so the feeling are normal. What degree are you studying for, and at what uni if you don't mind me asking?

im studying for a degree in social science, my next course is called child development so its quite handy having a baby for the experience lol I study with the open university. You can apply for courses on line. Its a great way to get a degree. Basically every course has a different level either 1,2 or 3. A level 1 course is the eqvialent to studying your 1st yr at uni, a level 2 is like your 2nd yr at uni and level 3 like your 3rd yr. To gain a degree in a specific subject like mine (social science) i need to earn 300points. Each course that you do has a points value. Eg child development is worth 60pts. You need to study at least one course at level 1, 2 courses at level 2 and 2 courses at level 3. Each course normally lasts about 9 months so you can probably see it will take longer getting a degree this way but the pros are that i dont have to go to uni and i dont need a student loan. The courses cost about £450 for a 60pt level 2 like my child development but you can get help like you would at uni to pay for it. In the ened you would have probably spent the same amount as going to uni but you still have a life! Al your materials are included in the price, you have a tutor who you send your assignments too, and nearly all courses have weekly tutorials that you can go to but that are not compulsory but their handy if you are strugling on a particular topic. Its quite difficult to explain, sorry to go on, but i really reccomend the OU have a look on their website www.open.ac.uk theres loads of info on there x

I completed a degree at uni a couple years ago, but i didn't have a life, and it was really expensive too, so sounds like i would have been better off going to ou.
Hi Gem, i know what you mean about finding things to do. Since i moved house a year ago, my husband has been taking the car to work which has left me with public transport. Makes it a real chore to go out and struggle on the buses, especially in this weather. I miss my car!
Went to baby clinic for first time on wednesday, and it was like a cattle market, everyone fighting their way to the scales. I expected it to be somewhere i could meet other mums and form friends, not enemys, as everyone was getting annoyed with eachother. Really put me off going again. Are all baby clinics like this?

i go to baby clinic for joshua's weigh in every month and its usually really quiet the one i go to. I dont always get a chance to spk to other mums cos there isnt many there lol x

Well I get the award for the worst mummy in the world or atleast thats how I felt last sunday night when Lucy had an accident. Every night Lucy settles down to watch the bedtime hour on cbeebies and I will sit with her thru storymakers but start to lose the will to live when Night Garden (god I hate that prog) comes on so while Lucy is totally engrossed I sneak off and potter around the house and have a tidy up. I was upstairs in Lucys room puttin some clothes away when I heard a bag and smashing glass and then Lucy screaming. She had climbed onto the sofa, opened the door of the glass cabinet where my porcelain dolls are kept and had climbed inside and stood on one of the shelves to get a doll out. The whole cabinet shattered and Lucy fell and was showered in broken glass. I ran down stairs and omg ive never felt so sick in my life Lucy was wedged in between the sofa and what was left of the cabinet covered in glass. Thankfully she was not injured but I still felt awful for leaving her alone. She has never taken any notice of the cabinet or the dolls in the 2 years we have had it there. I just sat there cuddling her the next hour or so crying and saying sorry and all she could say was "its ok mummy will mend it". Needless to say I hvnt let her out of my sight since and there will never be a glass cabinet in my house again.

A positve to come from it tho was that if that had happned a month ago I wud have headed straight for the fridge and had some chocolate to make myself feel better but this time all I did was pop on a dvd and did a workout to destress. I dont know whats happned to me since new year I think ive been taken over by a health obessed alien lol. My diet is goin so well I cant believe it. I havnt had a single unhealthy thing to eat since 1st jan and whats more hvnt even fancied anything bad and I have worked out every single day too. I literally cant force myself to go to bed unless I have workedout. Ive already lost 8lb!

I was very lucky with baby clinic when Lucy was younger. Cos Lucy was born prem and had a lot of health probs for the first 18mnths or so I had to take her to clinic every week so hv cud keep an eye on her and I made some great friends there. By coincidence all the girls who I met at ant--natal classes all had girls and we all had them prem so we used to go to clinic 2gether every week. I miss going to clinic now.

How r u 2day? Im so tired. Holly has a cold so was awake most of last nite - ive had about 2 hours sleep :( Other than being sleep deprieved (sadly Holly doesnt share mine and her daddys love of sleeping) im lovin life as a mummy. Wedding plans are goin ok thnx. Cant believe how quick its coming around. We get married 23rd Feb so 6 weeks 2day yay!! Tbh tho is really hard work tryin to arrange a big wedding and look after a newborn. Up until now ive done all the wedding prep myself cos only I know how I want things to be on the day but I may have to let Logan help out abit with the arrangements now cos I hvnt got enough time in the day to do it all. Got my final dress fitting on 2nd feb - cant wait for that. Im stressing abit bout my bridesmaids tho. Cos obv with Amy being pg dunno how much she is gonna grow between now and the wedding so hope she gets in2 her dress and my best friend is my chief bridesmaid and she will be 35 weeks pg on the day so I hope her lo doesnt decide to come early. arggggghhhhhhh so much stress lol

Yeah all the family are really plsd for Amy and Ryan and me and Logan r particuarly pleased that there will only be 7 or 8mnths between Holly and her cousin so hopefully they will grow up to be close. U plan on havin any more lo's soon or r u happy with just the one? Id start ttc straight away if Logan would let me but think im goin 2 have to wait a while b4 I can talk him round lol.

even though my morning sickness only lasted about 10 weeks i was so pleased when it ended. just picked my washing in now i think i was lucky cos it was only joshua's bits so it dried quite quickly. just about to go to mutley to get joshua some porridge and some more milk, then a bit of ironing and thats my housework done till tomorrow. Joshua has nursery tommorrow so ill be able to get more work done tommorrow x

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi again to you all, I haven't posted on here for months, last time we were TTC. I'm now pregnant (woohoo) and will be 12 weeks on sunday, have my first scan on monday, really can't wait! At the moment we think I'm due 9th August but this could change.

Hi Corinna, I remember u from earlier in the thread when u were ttc. Huge congrats!! thats fab news! Hope you scan goes well on Monday. I had my 12wk scan yday and they have moved my EDD forward a few days from 3rd August to 28 July so im now 13+3 and pheeeeeeew there is only one this time. Dont think I could cope with another set of twins just yet! xx

Corinna, congrats on the pregnancy thats great news! How did your scan go?

I cant believe Ruby is almost 9months old now. Where has the time gone? She is crawling all over the place now and is into absoulutly everything. Its deffo time to start baby proofingt he house now cos everythignt hat is in her reach is picked up and straigt in her mouth lol. She has 5 teeth now and she has the cutest lil smile! In the last few days she has started to try and pull herself up on the furniture and move around it. The hv reckons she will be an early walker and will probably be up and away int he next 6 weeks. Thats when the fun will begin! She is becoming so much more aware of whats happenign now and is loves interacting and playing games with other people. Her faves are putting colourful blocks into a bucket and passing her toys around to everyone in the room lol Ive noticed she has become alot more clingy and anxious when I leave her recently - has anyone else noticed this with their lo? I spoke to the hv and she said at 8-10months a baby is most likely to feel seperation anxiety.

How are we all gettin on with our diets? Ive lost 10lb since the new year woohoooo! Im eating really well following weightwatchers but cant get motivated to do my exercise dvds. Saying that tho I did save up the pennies and invest in a fab piece of exercise euiptment that has done wonders for my abs and ive have used it 4-5 times a week without fail. if you r like me and your wobbly mummy tummy is your problem area id certainly recommend you invest in an ab lounge XL...its amazing! Ive lost 3inches off my waist already and can deffo notice a difference in muscle tone. They are expensive £100+ but worth every penny for the results you get.

They are both sitting up now on there own and Rebecca is very nearly crawling. Ellie isnt interested in crawling tho she prefers to shuffle along on her bum. Cant believe im only 14 wks pg....im huge!!! I know they say you are usually bigger with your second but im sure I wasnt this big with the girls at this stage. Saying that I shouldnt complain cos Gemma emailed me some pics last night and omg her bump really is huuuuuuuuuuuuge! I think there are 22 in there not 2 lol

Ive ordered myself an ab lounge to use after bubs is here. I think im gonna need it judging by the size of me already. I almost dont dare say this after you spent all that money on urs but Jo and I have just bought an ab lounge off ebay aswell as the dvd x2 and monitor which are normally extra money all for £38!! Mine hasnt come yet but Jo's came a couple days ago and she said its fab and so easy to use.

hey girlies, how u all doin? Cant believe how quick our babies are growing away. Lucie is doin really well and is starting to crawl now. Now the fum starts! She is teeth really bad atm so eveythign she gets her hands on goes straight into her mouth. She cut her first toothlast week and has another 3 coming thru now. Im being mega organised and have already started to make plans for her bday party in May. Is everyone else plannin on havin a bday party for their lo's first bday? Long time, no speak! Hows u hun? How about Ruby I bet she is growing away now? Im great thnx just feelin fat n fed up...only another 23 weeks to go lol Yep the 17 weeks has flown by. Got my 20 wk scan on 7th March-cant wait! Yeah we r deffo gonna find out the sex. I thinking its a boy but we'll see. We have settled on names and have chosen Callum or Caitlin.

Had a final fitting for the dress 2day and thankfully it fits just right. I dont expect im gonna get massively bigger in 5 days so it shud be ok touch wood and I will fit in it ok on the day.Tbh I think Rach is more worried bout her chief brisdesmaid than me. She is 35 wks gone and when she went to MW 2day she was told babys head is engaged so I think Rach has all kinds of images goin thru her head of her big day turnign in2 a disaster. Yh Rach and Logan r both realy lookin 4ward 2 it now...we all are! Yh Ry is best man he was goin over his speech with me last night and omg its soooooooooo funny every1 will love it. I haven't used this site for a while now as been really busy with Lucy I can't quite believe she is nearly 7 months now.

It would be good to be able to meet up with some Plymouth mum's as I still don't know many mums. I did meet up with Jo & her daugher Lucy but I've lost her number so haven'e been able to get i touch.

Me and the hubby are trying for baby brother or sister for Lucy so will keep you posted as I'm due soon so maybe allready preggers.

Hiya Laura hun, sorry I didnt get chance to meet up with u ova the wkend while we were down it was a bit of a flying visit really jus for the wedding. Lovin ur avator-ur bump is coming along nicely! The wedding was amazing. Rachel looked fab and im sure she will be on here soon enough to tell u all about it. The day passed without any drama i.e no pg bridesmaids not bein able to fit into their dress or even worse goin in2 labour lol. The whole day was perfect and Rach and Logan had a fab day. Anyway I am comin down 2 Plym again in a couple wks for the wkend for Jo's bday so hopefully we will catch up then xx

Hiya Laura hun, sorry I didnt get chance to meet up with u ova the wkend while we were down it was a bit of a flying visit really jus for the wedding. Lovin ur avator-ur bump is coming along nicely! The wedding was amazing. Rachel looked fab and im sure she will be on here soon enough to tell u all about it. The day passed without any drama i.e no pg bridesmaids not bein able to fit into their dress or even worse goin in2 labour lol. The whole day was perfect and Rach and Logan had a fab day. Anyway I am comin down 2 Plym again in a couple wks for the wkend for Jo's bday so hopefully we will catch up then xx

Congrats on setting the date! Were lookin at either 20th June or any saturday in June but I like the sound of 20th LOL! Its so difficult deciding where to get married, we were thinking of st ives cos its so lovely down there but quite far to drive, then we thought of Kitley cos its close but were still sort of deciding wether we would regret not getting married in a church! Have you found somewhere?

Yeah I got the text thnx. It was a really hard day cos it was the first mothers day since Cerys died so i was feelin abit sad. Ryan and I spent a few hours down the cemetory @ at her resting place which was nice and made me feel a lil better. It will be a year on 1st April since we lost her. The year has gone really quick but its still hurts as much as if it happned only yesterday.

It's pink for me too! Was sooo shocked when we were told really hadn't expected a girl! Not going to rush out and buy all pink though just in case!

Mum took me out yesterday and bought some outfits for her grandchild, she's so excited! Matalan have some nice stuff on half price sale at the mo, might be worth a look?

We r 99% sure we r gonna go with Sienna-Mae but there is still 18 weeks to chance my mind yet...Ellie was gonna b a Rachel right up until about 30 secs b4 she was delivered when me and oh decided we didnt like rachel anymore and decided on ellie instead lol

My mum was the same when I was pg with Rebecca and Ellie. She bought half of mothercare and NEXT by the time I was 20wks lol. Thankfully I wont need to buy too much as ill still have all the twins stuff but ill deffo check out matalan...any excuse to shop lol

Vicky, I'm so jealous of you getting married!! It's nearly a year since our wedding (14th April) and I wish I could do it all over again, with the same man of course ;-) i'm such a soppy git, hubby has gone out tonight so I put our wedding vid on, our first dance still gives me goosebumps. Defo the best day of my life so far!

Got the hump at the mo, going to a wedding in just over a week, and the outfit I'd chosen doesn't fit me cos my boobs are too big. ARGH! Hubby isn't complaining but they're friggin hoooooog! Don't like it :-( Got to work this weekend so I can't go shopping either, looks like it'll be a tent for me then.

hi girls i would love some advice. We are planning on moving to Plymouth in a few weeks and we are trying to rent some where but we dont know which areas are good and not so good.!! My partner will be working down on the Barbican so would like to be within 3 miles and we have a little boy alfie who's 21wks. Oh and we have 2 cars so its a nightmare. Im so stressed as we only have a few weeks to find somewhere. Hope u guys can help me xx

Hey Corinna, Hope all is good with u and pink bump. Rubys birthday is 9th May. I cant believe she is nearly 1 already its gone so fast. She started walkign this week. She only manages a few steps at the mo but I was so proud of her when she did it for the first time on Wednesday. I cant wait for her party although I think its gonna be hard workin runnin around after 10-15 kids.

Hiya Widge, Cant really help u im afraid I dont know much about the areas around the barbican most of the nice areas that I know of r further out. Ive just moved to Derriford which is a nice area and b4 that ive always lived in Plymstock which was also nice but too far out for my liking. Sorry I cant be more help. Hi ya, yes move to Plymouth its lovely!

I live at a place called Freedom Fields, which is right next door to a lovely Park. It was my oh house before we got together and when we moved to Reading he kept it and rented it out to students, so when we moved back to Plymouth last April we decided to rent a house on the same development untill the students contract was up which was in the July.

Its a 3 storey town house- kitchen, seperate dinning rm and bathroom on the ground floor, living rm and study on middle floor and 2 double bedrooms, a single room and bathroom on the top floor. Its a 5 minute walk to a place called Mutley Plain which has a few banks, boots, somerfield, Co-op, card shop, post office etc. We live next to Freedom Fields Park which looks out to the sea and has a play area for children with a little cafe. It takes me 15 mins to walk to the town centre, but there are direct buses too.

When we rented the 2 bedroom house on the same development off of a company called Executive Lets it cost us about £700 which is a lot but its where we wanted to be and we only rented for 3 months.

It would take your oh about 10 mins to get to the Barbican depending on traffic.

I love where I live manily cos of the park, but having other shop 5 min walk away so handy if i ever forget anything or cant be bothered to go to town! Plymouth has a new shopping centre with some great shops. Joshua is at a nursery called Margaret McMillans which is lovely.

Hi Widge, where u moving from? Firstly I can tell u where u dont want to live...weston mill! Thats where I live and its a dump. If it wasnt for the fact that we have twins, another on the way, a wedding to pay for and we are skint we would be out of here liek a shot.

I personally agree with leanne that the nicest areas to live r further out from the City Centre/Barbican but like Vicky says Freedom Fields is a nice place to live. I know a few ppl who live there and they all say it is a nice area to live in x

Thanks sweeties. Well I used to live in Kingsbridge so I know that Freedom fields used to be the old hospital years ago!! My mate lived in Mutley Plain i remember going to a pub near the traffic lights to see a live shit band, many moons ago !!But i have not been there for about 10yrs. Well we are definitly moving to Plym we are coming down on Wed to look at some property. 1 is in Plymstock on Pomphlett rd, then into town. Dixon PLace which i think is Stoke and Onslow road which i think is just up from Central Park. Your house sounds fab Vicky. I shall have to start looking for a part time job and a nursery for Alfie but not looking forward to going back to work i love being at home !!

Well i shall keep u posted and then hopefully once settled we'll have to meet up, i see there is now a starbucks in Plymouth yippee xx

Plymstock is a lovely area. We moved to Plymstcok when I was 7yrs old from Union St (another area to avoid- not all of it just the bits near the clubs) and we lived at Pomphlett Gardens. Me and my sister went to Pomphlett Primary school and then to Plymstock Secondary School. The only downside to Pomphlett Rd is that it is one of the main rds into Plymstock so can get very busy. On the plus side though, there is a big Morrisons super market 5/10min walk away, and The Broadway which is similar to Mutley Plain but without the bars. It has a boots, somerfield, new look, select, woolworths a few banks, superdrug etc You can also get direct buses to town or the broadway if you dont want to walk. There can be a lot of traffic particularly in the mornings so it may take you oh about 30mins to get into work depending on the time of day that he needs to go.

Another nice area is Peveral or Mannamead, can be pricey and dont often have big gardens but lovely houses near to good schools and near to central park which is where Plymouth Argyle play, also has a park and lots of green area to run around on + swimming pools and gyms.

Hope u are all well? Just thought I would pop on to say hi and let u all know I gave birth to my baby boy on 3rd April, 17 days early. His name is Ryan and he is perfect! Im lovin being a mummy but I am soooo tired but he is worth it. Had a really awful labour (36 hours) and ended up with a forceps delivery and havin to go to theatre to be stitched (sorry tmi). .

Just been browsing through this thread and saw that there was a big mum and baby meet on the Hoe last summer, is there anything similiar planned for this summer? I dont know many other mums so would be nice to meet up with sum mums and their kids.
