Arg they wont stop fighting

Hi I am new here, I have a son who is 4 and a daughter who is 5 and a half needless to say I am already going AHHHHHHHHHHHHH before I start. Still they are a joy to have and my partner and I have actually decided to try for another baby later next year and I am so excited.

My only problem is my two kids CONSTANTLY fighting. About 4 or 5 months back they actually faught over a deflated balloon (I am not joking yes they faught over a deflated balloon). What do I do to stop them from fighting ALL THE TIME. I mean arguments are part of being brother and sister I get it but they just wont leave each other alone its driving me mad.

I am happy they have a close relationship and love each other but I would like to be able to leave the room for 10 minutes and not come back to chaos and two kids trying to kill each other over such trivial things.

Hi there, I posted one a while ago and believe it or not things have got better!!!
The main thing I've started doing is giving them each jobs to do everyday. Even if they don't do it quite to my standards I make a big deal out of the fact they have done it and been good for a bit. I tend to dish out jobs when they start acting up or if i need the bathroom or am busy myself as this gives them something to focus on while I'm busy instead of arguing.
they are never too young to do jobs , heres a list of a few things mine do:
wipe dining table chairs, tidy tupperwear cupboard(eldest-7yrs, son)
dust with feather duster, sort washing socks into pairs etc(youngest-2 1/2 daughter)
plump, tidy sofas and tidy bookshelf(5yrs daughter)
Its not slave labour or anything just a bit of crowd control lol!!!!

I have learnt to chill more and not jump the minute a riff starts as sometimes this makes things worse.

Stickers, stickers, stickers, my three love getting an assortment of reward stickers for things like jobs, staying in own bed, agreeing to share, spotting things while I'm out and about, helping with shopping list .....the list is endless(and so are the stickers lol!!)

I did get some good advice from the ladies on here which really made me turn my house around and now we are soooo much happier and I can deal with alot now I don't feel like I'm going wrong all the time!!!

Hope this helps

xxxxxxx

getting my three in the car is AWFUL!!
No matter what we have tried nothing works...................I might invest in a mini bus then they will be so far apart they wont be able to argue lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, try having a 13, 11, 8 and 2 year old!!! We thought that if we put one in the back, 2 year old in the middle and one either side in the car it would stop all the arguing but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! they still manage to hit, punch, kick, wind each other up!! Im not a driver so poor hubby is trying to drive while i break it all up, my throat hurts just thinking of it!

And as for fighting over a deflated balloon - been there done that and worn the t'shirt, mine will argue over who picks a piece of rubbish up off the floor when ive asked its ridiculous!! The worst thing is that the 2 year old is gonna pick all this up soon and then it'll be worse still!

Sorry for that rant but at least i know im not alone!!!

Mine argue over things ive asked one of them to do too....its never ending!!!
they are all off school/nursery sick at the moment so I'm enjoying the quiet(even though its awful seeing them poorly the peace is nice lol!!!!!)

And we are trying for no'4 in the new year....I must be mad!!!!! I don't think a mini bus will be big enough, I might go for a coach lol!!!

yes i think you are insane woman!!!!!! I was just going to suggest a coach, one right at the front and the othher right at the back, bliss. My two have been terrible today, whinging over nothing, and my four yr old knows just the things to say to be spiteful to Zoe! Poor old zoe was so tired tonight, we were washing up, thought things were a bit quiet, and turned around to see her curled up on the rug fast asleep!! We should make a fight club i think where we can discuss all the different things our sprogs have argued about, great we are all in the same boat innit!!!! Send me to a safe padded room!!!! AAARRRGGGHHHH! lost the plot! sorry.lol!lol!LOL!

Yeah my daughter came home from school calling people gay and she called her brother gay which really upset me and she got into alot of trouble because he is only 4 and he is actually quite femanine he likes to dress up as princesses and play with cabbage patches, but he does play spiderman and iron man and do boy stuff too. Still I don't want him to become sensitive about it or feel bad because he likes doing girl stuff too.

oh bless your little man just has a great imagination. My ds likes playng with my girls and I dont see anything wrong with that.
It is shocking though the words lo's come out with, My youngest dd says FART all the time to everything.(a lad at nursery says it) We are trying to turn it into Trump which is working but very slowly.
My ds came home about a month ago saying that there was a P*ki at school..........I was like WTF. I did have serious words with my eldest two as I cannot stand racist remarks like that. I have my own views but i would never say something like that infront of my kids.

Hiya, Well I'm dreading my little man going to school now!!! I feel really bad when I'm really stressed with them and come out with a bad swearword and they repeat it, naughty mummy! Ollie has got ears like an elephant and it is impossible to have a private conversation with oh now!Smile
