Living arrangements
Hey there Lisa - I live with my in-laws and have a three month old baby. I've lived with them since he was born and it is so hard. I really only get him to myself when I'm feeding him, and when he is content and happy someone else always seems to have him and then I get him again when he starts crying.
My partner has resorted to holding the baby constantly in his lap because he says no one will take him off him if he has the baby on his knee.
They have been so good to us, and I love them so much, but it is so incredibly hard to live like this and be proper parents. We've managed despite this though - we've established quite a good night time routine and the baby is happy and healthy and loves all the attention, it's just difficult for me and his daddy.
We are due to move into our own house soon and I'm looking forward to decorating his nursery myself with all my own choices.
Theresa xx

I live with my OH, his parents, his little brother (who's 16), and 4 month old LO!
It is great most of the time, as mil isn't the type to bombard you with advice you don't want, as she was in the same situation with her 1st child so she knows what its like!

I still feel like i'm a guest or something. Though we've just got our own flat we shd be moving into in about 3 weeks wahoo am so excited lol

We're livin with my parents whilst we save up for a house. They've been so helpful and i really don't know what i'd do without them especially as oh works 15 hour days, but i sorta feel the same as u whalemummy like i'm not standing on my own feet cos they're al;ways around to help.

Me, oh and baby are moving in with my mum in a month, we moved out of our parents about 6 months ago and baby arrived 2 months ago. Both me and my mum have lost our jobs (we worked for the same company), so were helping each other out until back on our feet. The plan is to stay 7-9 months with my mum as were moving to newcastle in july/aug next year so this will help us save a bit more to go up with. At the moment im looking forward to moving in with my mum, but have to wait and see, shes not the interfering type though. xx
