Working Tax Credits - childcare element
HI there
I'm very confused over working tax credits. I've been told me and my husband will be eligible to claim to lowest amount because our combined earnings are between £25k and £55k but how does the childcare element affect this. What criteria do you have to meet to be eligible for help with childcare costs?
Many thanks!

Reply: Hi there is a very useful section on this on the Inland revenue's website with a helpline number covering this very topic. The link to the website is:

or call Tax Credit Helpline on 0845 300 3900

Working Tax Credits - childcare element
Hi, i also am very confused by all the money matters. i have just had bad news of having PCO and a bi-cornuate uterus and was told that with the 2 conditions combined things will be difficult so because of this news incase it takes a while we are thinking of starting to try pretty soon. However i am concerned that if w are sucessful straight away our finances may not support us and whilst also finding out i may experience many complications and 98% certanty that i won't be able to carry the baby much further than 7mths we are scared i may need to rest etc and am unsure of if i may need to from the start. Meaning i am concerned of having to take my maternity before my baby is born and any help or savings will go on supporting us incase the possibility is that i have to give up work through it all from an early stage. Do i have many rights and can i possibly get money or support to help us through all this.Any one know? I'm really stressed and feel like giving up before we have started.
