Hi again MM im in Golden triangle part of Norwich, Earlham Rd way, I lived in Hellesdon once (years ago now far too many to even contemplate!) so know a little about that area!
My oldest Molly is only just 11 so will be going to High school in sept, just been refused entry to CNS so have got to appeal, the joys!
Im not looking forward to it though she feels too young still, how is your daughter getting on?

Hi to Gem and Ellie too, i often drive through Long Stratton as my partner's mum lives in Eye, the chip shop is very popular there isnt it?! people seem to queue in all weathers to get their chips!
Are you enjoying being a mum? Are you still on mat leave at mo?

Hi all you Norfolk people. Heidi I knew you would not be able to resist making a post sooner or later! It took me over a year to pluck up the courage to make a post so you are much braver than me! MM where did you live before coming to Norwich? I moved here from Kent after going to Uni. I think its a lovely place to bring up children. I live on the coast but work in Norwich. Gem did you have your lo at n&n ? It feels weird typing to people that you could have walked past loads of times!! I know I sound a little mad. Heidi will be able to confirm that in fact I am!!. Oh yes I have two little boys 3yrs4mths and another that is 1 on the 18.

Hi A, I grew up in Hellesdon, my parents still live there, well it's lower hellesdon near the mill and st mary's chruch. I have been home late afternoon, yes. We were out and about this morning, near your neck of the woods actually Heidi. We went to sainsburys cause I wanted to buy Ellie a wet suit as we're going swimming at weekend to what was sports village. It's too cool in there for just her little swim trunks that she wears at waterbabies so got an all in one.

Heidi, yes the chip shop is very popular, i must admit they are tasty from there. But I must stay away and shift the last stone of baby weight!!!! I love being a mum, it's fantastic I just adore her and keep staring at her all the time and when she's in bed I want to wake her up, lol, Im sure I wont be saying that when I have 2!!!! We wont be starting for number 2 for a few years though. I go back to work in July but I was off sick from July/aug so it will be a few weeks short of a year by the time I go back. Im a nurse at the nnuh, will be going back for 24 hours 2 12 hour shifts a week so that will be nice.

Do either of you 2 work?

All i can say is I hold you responsible since you introduced me to this site, youve created a monster now!
Hope lil man is feeling better now :)

Gem, sounds like youre loving being a mum which is good, its lovely when youre so in awe of them, it does wear off abit as they get older, so definitely enjoy it whilst it lasts!
12 hour shifts sounds hard but then i guess once theyre done you can enjoy the rest of your time with your little girl.
Although you prob dont need people like me reminding you of impending returns to work!!
Yes i work but part time though so could be worse.

Any plans for weekend ladies?

Hi All, Thanks Heidi think lo is getting better now, was sick again yesterday but touch wood will be better soon. Oh and nursery is shut on tues due to essential works as water company turning water off! Will be at work (just so the rest of you know we work at same place!) as D taking (unpaid!!!) day off so i can come in. Anyway sorry to be rude to everyone else for that little note, just saves a text!!!
Angie I hate realising my age i am 29 but the impending 30 is 2 weeks aways ahhhhhhhhgggggggg. Sounds so old, not looking forward to it at all.
I went to the mall today, had to stock up on nappies and milk and get my husbands anniversary pressie. Was not as busy as I thought it would be on a Sat.
However you may have though diff as you had to work. Did you like living in London? I lived in middlesex when at uni but would not want to live near so many buildings again. Think thats whats good about here coast really near or woods etc so can escape the 'rat race' of life for a while when u want.
Anyway, better go promised to cook dinner tonight so DH can watch Dr Who!!

Hi Holly I got to the Sat nnuh water babies we were 11.30 am but next term it's going to be 10.30am start. So keep an eye out for me and ellie. I did have Ellie at nnuh, strange as I work there but it was ok, I managed to get a side room and was left alone unless i needed something. I had a section with Ellie due to severe SPD and being on crutches and unable to part knees enough to deliver naturally. Oh btw I am going to be 26 at the end of the month. Heidi, i just re-read your msg about where you lived and realised I was thinking the golden triangle was near thorpe not earlham road, new mummy brain syndrome, lol.

Hi Gem,
know what you mean about baby brain, prob is i think il prob carry on using that one even when theyre grown up! Think my mushy brain will always be slow!
A friend of mine had severe SPD and had to be on crutches for her last 3 pregnancies and so know a little about it from her, she still suffered effects ages after her 3 lo were born too! Its so painful though, is everything ok for you now?

Hi again Ange, what did you decide you were going to spend your winnings on then?! if people read this they might think youve won the lottery, sorry if you start to receive begging letters!

Im a bit of a secret gambler and go to bingo occasionally, (so whos the old person now then hey Holly!)
also ps for Holly prob best not to mention Mr Heidi thing to my darling other half! or there could be repercussions!!

Hi again Janice,
I found it really hard to think of boys names cos i think theres so many pretty girls names to choose from!
prob just as well ive only got 1 boy then and 2 girls!
My boy is called Freddie and hel be 1 next month and my girls are Molly and Mya who are 11 and 8. Think that is going to be it, for now! Athough people always ask " so when are you having more then!"
Im sure youve been asked the same although you havent given birth yet!
Another thing i found with names was i really like some ie, Alfie, Archie, Toby but my other half poo pooed them which made it even harder to decide!
Hope youre enjoying this stage and managing to put your feet up?

I know what you mean..there are so many lovely girls names and buys are so hard!! Actually Molly was the name I'd picked if baby was a girl, its so cute! Trouble is you pick one, then go off it..think I'll keep the ones I like in my head until I see him!!

People say.."So do you want any more?" and yea, I think, let me have this one first, ha!! I would like to have a few though, I think a big family is nice!

I am relaxing today, haven't even got dressed yet!! But I am working until 37 weeks so trying to have the weekends to do nothing..can't wait to finish now though! I suppose you never get those weekends with 3 children!

Hope you having a nice weekend xx

I remember those last few weeks of work they were definitely the worst, its really hard trying to concentrate on work all my thoughts were consumed with my baby!
Im now back at work having had 10 months off but luckily could go back part time, i went back in Jan which was hard at first but getting used to it now.
I do apologise because as Holly (Kyan2012) will vouch for me, im party to waffling at times!
Im with you on the lazy day thing its actually quite peaceful at mo, girls are playing quietly upstairs (for now) and Freddie is asleep, hence me being able to write on here!
My oh is doing our food shopping online, how lazy is that? but one thing we hate doing with all 3 children is trekking round supermarkets!
I think its a good idea waiting til you see your baby before you name him, its hard to imagine what they look like and when you get to finally meet them a name does tend to fit if that makes sense!
Do you intend to visit the site often? Youl have to keep us informed how your pregnancy and then birth (when you have time) goes!

Its ok..I can waffle too!!

I agree, I just don’t want to be at work any more, its so hard to concentrate on work..my mind is on my baby!! Also it is getting really uncomfortable to sit at my desk.

That’s about the time I am thinking of taking off..about 9-10 months, but its hard to say with it being my first, don’t know how I’ll feel. Bet it was hard to go back..is your little man in nursery then? I can go back part time or however many hours I want to when the time comes, which is good to know, think I will just see what happens at the time.

Trekking round supermarkets is a chore on your own..let alone with 3 children, online is the way to go!

This is the first time I have been on the site, but yea, I like it..I got it from the Prima Pregnancy magazine..and as I am too tired to go very far or do very much at the minute I have to fill my time!! Also, none of my friends have children or are pregnant, so its good to chat with people who do/are!

I think i've got used to living in Norwich now :-) the 1st year was really hard a combination of being a long way from my family and a wedding to plan. So there were lots of tears but things have got a lot better since then. The city is fantastic for shopping and pretty so were lucky there. My husband its orginally from Norwich so he enjoys being back and having the odd torture session at carrow road!! lol
So far I've had a fantastic pregnancy I've been so lucky as no illness. I just can't wait for my little man ( we found out the sex) to arrive!

Hi again to Janice too!
realised i didnt answer your question yest, i was finally dragged away from cyberland and had to join the real world again!
Freddie my Lo is teething i think and not very happy boy :(
But in answer to your question, yes he goes to nursery, at one which is quite central, i was apprehensive at first but he seems to be settling in quite well now and love sit there because they feed him loadsa food!
It was quite strange looking at the nursery when i was pregnant because its seems surreal and you cant imagine your baby going there if that makes sense! But thought best to plan in advance, knew that couldnt afford not to go back to work (unfortunately!) but still holding out for lottery win so fingers crossed!
Did you have good weekend?

Hey A – I am a newbie pregnant lady!! So your trying for a baby at the minute..how old are your other children? I have to say that I have had no problems with the N&N at all so far..I have a high risk pregnancy as I only have one kidney that works, so I have to go every 4 weeks for scans, blood tests, consultants etc..and I have found them really good..apart from the waiting around! You say you work in the mall and its fun..where do you work? I was in there today actually.

Sorry I didn’t reply to you Heidi & Hannah last night..was shattered!!

Heidi – I know what you mean about nursery, I bet its hard to leave baby there to start with. But I am going to be the same, unfortunately I am going to have to go back to work too, think I’ll take 9 months off! My weekend was nice, had some friends for lunch on Saturday, and on Sunday I stayed home and didn’t even get dressed – lovely!!

Hannah – I go to yoga near John Lewis, its on a Monday lunch time, its really good..especially the relaxation bit..get a quick nap in the middle of the day, ha! So do you think everything will be ready for when your husband goes away? I have everything yes, have actually been very organised with baby..maybe a bit too much, ha!

Hope you have all had a nice day. Is anyone up to anything this evening? I’m now..just chilling and watching tv.

See Heidi – told you I could waffle, ha!

Got my 3 darlings in bed and now just whizzing around on here for abit, just watching the news as well finding the story about shannon matthews and her mother incredulous, just seems really strange that whole situation.

Welcome back Angie,
things must be quieter now for you now at work with children gone back to school! My 2 girls had had more than enough of each others company by yesterday and were squabbling in a big bad way so was pleased when today came and they went back!
I guess you prob dont get too much of that as your 2 have much bigger age gap?
Look what youve started now with your topic!!

Hello everyone. Angie, you said you were interested to hear about N&N. I had both my boys at the 'new' (not so new now) N&N I can't say that I could complain about the care i received. I had to stay overnight before i had both boys, so you do see a variety of midwifes. Heidi will know as she was in for about a week when she had her lo. As we had both said before on a different thread do take your own food. The food provided is yuk! and the canteen food resembles very expensive school dinners. (Although if you are having contractions, food is the last thing you care about!!!)
Hannah on your other thread I think you may have mentioned not wanting to be apart from your partner if you had to stay in. I know exactly what you mean when I had my first I was told my DH could stay then the shift changed and the next midwife said he had to go I was in tears (so was he) you feel vonerable (i cant spell) anyway so it does not help. Basically what I am trying to say is have an open mind as you do not know what may happen. Both my boys took their time in coming (which I won't go in to, waffling too much) so I had time away from home. The only times I had ever spent a night away from my eldest, and from my husband since we have been married. They would not keep you in though if there was not a good reason, so try and think that you are in the best place to look after you and your baby. Enough of my waffling on.
I'm not going to comment too much on the Shannon Matthews case as i studied Criminology and will bore you all to sleep !!!zzzzzzzzzz LOL
Janice you said you were deciding what length of time to take for mat leave. All I can say is take as long as you can possibly afford as you will never have that time again with your baby. Every moment was precious when I was on mat leave. (still is) Will you go back to work part time? Obviously everywhere is different but this time I went back to work (Heidi i'm sure will agree) it has been much harder to be accepted as a part-timer. Won't carry on about that though as it will turn into a very long rant.!!
Angie (mummy mitchell) thanks for starting this post.

Talking of the littley she had her first day at nursery today and came out with a great big scratch under her eye! She says a little girl hit her! she really loved it though and just waved us off I was amazed as she is very shy!!

I was lucky I was able to stay home after having her and when i had my biggy I was a nanny in London and she came with me to work! I would have hated to leave them with anyone else! now hubby has taken the reigns at home for a while after we moved up from London after our wedding in Oct last year!

It's great that so many of us want to chat I love looking forward to seeing the replies! I reckon we will outdo the Plymouth gang!!!

I have never worked in an office so have no idea of what goes on! We have such a laugh at work we are all good friends and go for drinkies and stuff!

I'd better go as I'm sorting tea and stuff!!

Sorry to have gone off on odd points!!

Love Angie xx

Hi,
Janice i studied Criminology and Social Policy at Uni but am wasting that and working in Admin! Decided to put career on hold to have kids (thats why I would like another one soon) Then I will be able to concentrate on what I REALLY want to do rather than what I HAVE to do. (Not really that keen on my job, but flexible and pays well for part time work)
Nursery can be fun when they pick up coughs, cold, upset tummy's etc!!!lol My eldest used to fall over all the time. I hope (Angie) your little one is ok and the scratch was not too bad.
Heidi, I will text u 2morrow about meeting up.

hi janicee

I love bradwell!! I was born there and lived there till I was 18 then moved to great yarmouth, then canada then came back to bradwell 4 yrs ago. it's a lovely village, wherebouts you moving to if you don't mind me asking.

I've loved my first week at work (last day today as have fri's off) I work in a centre next to jph, and I work for an offshore company. I work with all men so they've spoilt me rotten all week and also paid me loads of compliments which has done my confidence the world of good!!

Be nice to hear from you, how old is your lo? maybe we could catch up when you're here. I go to some good mother and babies groups here too so if you want to join me you're more than welcome

Hi Holly,
i think Freddie knew how much i didnt want to be at work today cos got into work and left half an hour later! but still had to endure half hour of misery that went like this:
*got into work at half 9 got ignored by all except Bob
*someone had nicked my chair so had to borrow yours then instead of giving mine back when finished just left it in middle of room!
*got call from nursery to say freddie been sick (loads!!)
*went to speak to manager (what a laugh!) but he just spent whole conversation having playfight with Amy!
*so thankfully i left to pick up Freddie and have much more adult company with him!
I dont know how im gonna manage another couple of weeks without another sane person (thats you in case youre wondering!) to talk to
Sorry for rambling and moaning but noone else understands like you!
Im really excited for you now though since your hols is so close, glad im allowed to txt too, bet you cant wait now and esp for friday too! cant believe its been nearly a year since Kady arrived!
ps can you see if theres any job vacancies in Disney for me, else i might have to go into partnership with the puppet man!!

Hi Holl,
No didnt even argue with Matt on this one, i def wanted to stay at home! We had to do split shifts last night staying up with Freddie to watch him whilst he was sleeping cos he was so sick he went floppy and we thought he might choke. Unfortunately baby expert visitors are few and far between 2 and 6 in the morning! (that was my shift!)
Thankfully he seems alot better today :)
Hope youre all set and rearing to go, who's the most excited i wonder??
Have a fantabulous time, im sure it will be hard but youl manage somehow!!

How exciting a birtday party!!! I used to love organising my little sisters party and having my own birthday parties. One of the best bits were all the little buns my mum and dad used to make. So I got to them to make some for my wedding!! Think I might throw a welcome to the world baby party he he!!
I've been so stressed out this last couple of days. I've always been a stress head but really tried not to stress since ttc. Oh well I've done quite well to get this far.
Glad your feeling better Janice you make sure you take care of yourself and baby. Have a nice evening xxx

Hello everyone, back from hols now. Was really good but tiring with a 3and half year old and a one year old sharing the same room with us 24/7. They were VERY over excited and I keep humming disney music, I think they have brain washed me!!!! Hope you are all ok. Gem i had a picture taken after the 1st term of waterbabies they are soooo expensive though! Worth it but expensive. I don't rate the framing company they recommend either and they are expensive aswell. If i get another picture I will go somewhere else. We are in the class before the toddler classes. As I think I may have mentioned kadyn is starting to get a bit upset in the water now and (as you will find out soon) they do a throw from the side of the pool he does not really like that either!
Wow all these baby boys in Norwich, won't Ellie be a lucky girl when she grows up!!!

Hehe, she will have such a choice of boyfriend to pick from. Glad you had a good holiday, although you are tired after it.
We;re off to Scotland in September Ellie will be 10 1/2 months old, so Im sure that is going to be tiring.

Ellie's had a bad cold all week and now Im starting to suffer with it now!!! I've also had a bad skin reaction to co-codamol so have discovered Im allergic to Codien!!! Not impressed, I look like a tomatoe and am sitting her scratching myself red raw. Dr gave me some antihistamine and topical ointment. It's helping but wish it would work quicker.

Im off to the City tomorrow as my friend is going to a summer ball and I've got to help her pick a dress, then in a few weeks I'll be looking for one as it's my hubby's rugby summer ball. Can't wait to get a new dress, shoes and bag...

Hope all mums, babies and mum-to-be's are well.
