FAO Miss Impatient, re NT scans
Hi there
I started a new thread just in case you missed it! Thanks for your reply re scans, this is the first I have heard about an NT scan!!!! i have looked it up and i found that both of my local hospitals offer it. I assume it is a free NHS test if it is carried out at an NHS hospital, and they will give it to anybody that requests it? i am not sure what risk i will be classed, but I turn 30 in September!!
If its free and they have to give it to me, then I am going to call the midwife tomorrow, and see if she can get me an appointment.
thanks loads xx

I think every woman is entitled to one but they only offer it if they consider you high risk, other than that you need to request one. I requested one at my midwfie appointment, I am 24 with no hsitory of downs in the family so I am not too concerned about my risk of downs I just wanted the 12 week scan!
Good luck with the midwife, let me know if you get one!

Thats obscene!! A babybond scan doesn't cost that, how can they justify charging that much???

ahy girls sorry to crash the post. Some hospitals dont offer this service and my hospital only have been doing these free for the last year and half i didnt have one with my dd i had the triple blood test and they also do this with the scan now. You will be offered the triple blood test and they are quite accurate i believe so dont panic that you wont have any tests at all. £200 is excessive isnt it it should just be a normal scan charge as Miss I said babybond wouldnt charge this much maybe you could look into this if you have a bit of spare pennies xx
