Had the most awful news yesterday - Warning very sad story

My husband grew up with his Auntie and Uncle mostly so his cousins are like brother and sister.
His cousin is pregnant and due in October and her brothers girlfriend is pregnant and due next week, we are due in December.

Husband called me yesterday to say he had had a call about the baby due next week. She had been to the MW for riutine appointment and they couldnt find a heart beat. So she was sent to hospital for reasurance and the baby has died.

I just cannot believe it. Howcan this happen? She had no pain or anything. He was ment to be here next week.
But now on Monday she has to give birth to him knowing that he is dead. I cannot think of anything more awful.

Dont really know why I am posting this but just wanted to get it out.
No need to reply

Hunny big hugs to you and your family :( xxx

Unfortunatly this can happen, very rarely though x In jan 08 I was due to have my second dd and a very good friend of mine was due 7 days later , I had Immie and we waited for her baby to arrive she went 2 weeks over and the baby showed no signs of coming . She was booked in for induction at 42 weeks the day before she was monitored and everything was fine . She went into be induced but they couldnt find a hb :( she had a scan which confirmed the baby had died in utero :(. They started her labour and baby trevor was born still , the cord was wrapped tightly round his little neck several times ,I MUST add though this is very very very rare so I dont mean to worry anyone. Sadly she got pg at the end of last year but mc :( at 11 weeks . I havent seen my friend since as she just cant bear to be around my daughter who is the same age. I just wish I could have made it right for her thats all I wanted and still do . Sorry Im rambling now , but it still upsets me so much that I couldnt put things right for her and I lost a good friend in the process xx

oh honey, what awful awful news. To get that far and have this happen.
Sending my thoughts for them and you my dear but don't let it worry or make you stressed. As hard as it is (and I don't mean to sound mean) but you and baby are very important and you need to stay calm.xxxxxx

Grief how awful!
Sending hugs to you all but i'll echo what Emma said....you need to look after yourself & your baby too!
I only said to hubby the other day that the worry is never ending...first its making it to the 12 wk scan, then NT tests, then 20 wk scan...the list goes on (and all this before baby is born!!)xx

how truly awful Sad Sad as someone else said although it is rare it does happen with NO warning signs at all .....i gave birth to my son in june 2006 and my sister was due 21st july with her 1st baby too ,we didnt get on until we were pregnant together and had something in commen but sadly on 28th june 2006 she had to give birth to her baby girl who was born still Sad there was nothing wrong ,no cord wrapped around her neck ,no placental abruption nothing just "one of those things" so so so sad i couldnt even bring myself to go and see her with my 6 day old son Sad ..your poor friend xxxxxx

Oh that is so sad my sympathies to your family at such a sad time. Babies just shouldn't die its just too much to take such an innocent life out of this world.

Hey.

I know everyone is sharing their stories but I also know how alone I felt when I worried about this when I got pregnant. It is very rare and it doesnt happen very often at all, and people do then go on to have healthy babies with no complications. My step mum's first baby was born still 17 years ago. My little sister Kirsty was 38 weeks old when she came into this world, fully formed, with the cord round her neck. My step mum was fobbed off for 2 days before anyone would finally listen. I have worried the whole way through this pregnancy, about EVERYTHING. Please try hard to look after yourself. My stepmum went on to have 2 beautiful children who are now 15 and 12 so things can be happy, although we will never forget my baby sister.
