Pet therapy!

Hi
I have to admit I'm excited! I've just got a baby bunny which I know sounds sad but after the ectopic in April I really missed having a pet to cuddle (my husband is fine but I find the rabbit more relaxing sometimes and he doesn;t answer back!) I know its a 'substitute baby' albeit a very poor one but if it helps us feel a teeny weeny bit better then it can;t be a bad thing - anyone else 'talk' to their pets?!

i'm allergic to all things fluffy, but i do chat to our fish!
its lovely you've got a little bunny, i think animals can do a lot to make you feel better, and anything that cheers you up can't be a bad thing can it? xxx

ps. should i be worried that i think my fish talk back?!

God, I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! I'm convinced my cat "talks" to me like some kind of mad old cat lady ha ha! I've even got DH referring to us as Mummy and Daddy to the poor cat. Who said substitute baby??? ;) xx

Pet therapy!

Hi Daisy

Me and my DH brought a little kitten and its mum from a rescue home after my last mc and they have been great. They are totally substitute babies and we don't see that there is anything wrong with this as they have a very good home and are spoilt rotton!

They have been totally theraputic and its been lovely to come home to them rather than an empty house. They wil never replace our losses but they have given us a focus and have helped to ease the pain.

They are a positive thing that has come out of the mc as we had talked about having pets but probably would not have got round to it if it hadn't been for the mc.

I'm sure your little bunny wil give you lots of comfort and wil keep you on your toes!

Take Care x

I don't think your mad at all, or if you are I need to join the club... I have a cat and regularly talk to him and I swear he understands the word "treats"! I hope he gives you lots of cuddles and helps you feel better.

Oh and post a photo!

thanks for the replies - as usual its good to know 'its not just me'!
I will let you know if my bunny says anything interesting although I suspect he will say exactly what I want him too!
