YOU MUST SPEAK TO A MIDWIFE - That is what they are there for and they won't think you are wasting their time - yours and babies healthy and safety is the most important and you must not sit and worry so GO AND SPEAK TO SOMEONE!!!

My waters broke at 34 weeks. It sounds like something is ahppening and even if it is not early labour you need to get checked over so you can relax!

i agree with charli give them a ring if its nothing at least they can out your mind at rest.

my waters went at 32 weeks and i rang the hospital and went doen, my contractions started about 90mins after my waters went while i was waiting to be seen, by the time they examined me (it was during change if shift) i was 3cm within about 15mins of contractions starting, it was too late my then for them to try and stop my labour so had to let nature take its course. 3 hours later i was holding my baby after pushing for 2 hours. i went from no contactions to fully dilated and pushing in 1 hour.

please give them a ring and get checked over, better to know what is happening rather than just worrying

Good advice so far from Charli and Karen.
The only warning I had of prem labour was tightenings over a few days before my "show" at 33 weeks, and then my waters broke spontaneously at 33 weeks + 2. Other than that there was nothing else.
The hospital kept me in once I had my show and sent me off to a hospital with a special care baby place just in case things happened, which they did!

I would urge you to go and checked pver hun...the tightenings may be Braxton HIcks but better to be on the safe side x

How are you vickie0987. Hope youv been checked out and that bubba is settling down.

At 32+5 I had terrible back pain that went up to my shoulders. Woke 5am the next morning feeling a bit strange and went to the loo and was bleeding slightly. Phoned the hospital and they said to see my GP who sent me to the hospital. I thought I was having braxton hicks (I had them many times a day from 20 weeks) but on the monitor it showed contractions. To cut a long story short my labour was on and off for 2 days, had 2 steroid jags to mature my babies lungs and he was born at 33+1.

Your MW, GP and maternity unit are all at the end of the phone if your concerned, im glad I phoned as soon as something wasnt right.

Good luck

Hi Vickie,
I had daughter at 31 weeks 5 days. It started with tightenings in my abdomen which I assumed was braxton hicks as there was no pain involved.

After a few hours this hadn't stopped so I phoned the maternity ward who advised me to come in and get checked. Even they said it didn't sound like I was in labour.

Got to ward and was told I was having contractions and then two days later she was born.

I would advise getting checked out, its better to be checked out and it be nothing than not check and it be labour. Midwives would rather you check everything out.

Hi do get checked out if you notice anything unusual.

My waters slowly started leaking at 35 weeks and then the following day in the evening my contractions started. By the time I got up to hospital a few hours later I was nearly fully dilated so had to go to labour ward. Riley was born the next afternoon.

Thinking back afterwards I did get back for a day or so before my waters started leaking and after my waters broke I got more BH but I had them a lot anyway so didn't think anything of it and didn't think that I'd actually go into labour!
